I think some of the larger pieces that were not uncovered and unsummoned would break off to smaller pieces which then make demons.
Possible.

Nice quote. Who said it?

^Dansariki did. Ha.

As for my views being incorrect, all we see is a seething mass of colours, according to Kitty's description. So I've only elaborated what I've seen. I haven't changed what is in the books, but made sense of it.

I can't visualize what you're explaining, I suppose that's it.

yea..........i'm not really sure, but i'm going to answer your question with another. In the second book bartimaeus talked about his youth...when he had a more grander entrance in the pentacle....if so how was he created from the other place....how did anyone know his name??
Exactly gladstone..how could anyone know anyone's name in the other place?and youth...there's no time there right..?so there should be no youth or old..apparently...

Good point. How did they know Barty's name? Unless the magicians invented it during the summonings & the newest demon (which was born) was christened so or mightbe the demons which were already known to the magicians told them about the new-borns.

That's one of the things even Stroud has issues answering.
That's the thing about devout readers, they find things the authors themselves never thought about.

It's not like there's anything wrong with it though.

Quite, it makes the books following it more interesting, and gives the author (and us) something to do with the time...
