Ptolemy's Gate & Deathly Hallows

Ptolemy's Gate

Which is better- Ptolemy's Gate or Deathly Hallows?

Deathly Hallows
Ptolemy's Gate
Both equal
Well at first the ending annoyed me, but I can understand how Rowling would want to do something nice for her characters; she's put them through hell.

TBH there's no-one I would want to go through more hell than the insipid characters form Harry Potter, liked the books but not the characters in them.
Mindi Jackson , I think I'm in love. Now I just need to get famous.
HP deserved a happy ending like what Fuzzy said. There was a enough drama and crap for the characters throughout the Septilogy(?). PG wouldn't have been as good if Nat had lived, it would've been just another pretty good but still pretty lame in the end fantasy series.
Yeah, I liked the epilogue unlike many others. All books need not have bittersweet endings. And what she actually said in the end was that Harry had finally started to lead a "normal" life.

<@Ximenez> Sentynel: But i have a life? No. Qed.
However, Harry's children's names are inexcusable. :P

I agree.
I chose the third option of both being Equal.
Its a tough choice for me! I love both the series!
I liked the fact that there was an epilogue, I just think that it was a tad too cheesy
At least it does not leave the readers stranded!
So I feel that the epilogue made the book bitter sweet for me

Yeah, I agree, Hermione and Ron's children's names are worse though. Seriously, who names their kid Hugo, anyway???
And I hate Ginny...
I kinda wanted a Harry/Fleur or Harry/Cho pairing.
And I can't stand Harry's hero-complex? What kind of kid is willing to die for the world at 11 anyway???
Well, I choked up really bad when Nat died in PG, but at least the ending wasn't cheesy.

I like the age difference.
I voted for PG without hesitation! I also love HP books, but I think the Barti trilogy is more action-packed! I guess too many books in a series tend to slacken the action a little. And more so if we only have a single main antagonist to look for. The characters in Barti's trilogy have more depth than the characters in HP. Not that I hate Harry, I just love Barti better! :D And I think DH's epilogue is not necessary. It tends to sugar-coat the story too much. A paragraph about how Harry felt after defeating voldemort will do.

Definitely Ptolemy's gate. DH was just a bit...unrealistic, to put it mildly, I mean why would three kids that haven't done their N.E.W.T.'s be able to do what countless other wizards with way more experience couldn't?
Yes, many die in DH, but none of the Golden trio or the 'silver trio'(ginny, neville, luna) did.
