Ptolemy's Gate & Deathly Hallows

Ptolemy's Gate

Which is better- Ptolemy's Gate or Deathly Hallows?

Deathly Hallows
Ptolemy's Gate
Both equal
It wasn't just the final battle that was lame....I thought that too many characters were killed off for no reason....

I mean why did Fred have to die ? Or Mad Eye Moody???Or even Dobby???I just think it would have been better if Ginny had died instead of one of those....It would have made more sense....

But it wasn't just the deaths that made the book not that good...I felt as if it was all a bit ... rushed....but that just might be me... :P .....it definitely wasn't to the standard the other HP books are....
Yeah, a friend of mine thought that the last book was rushed up too. Said JK might have wanted to start another series. I didn't feel the book was rushed though. But yeah, I agree the other 6 books, though not as interesting were definately written better.
I too would have preferred Ginny to die in place of Fred or Dobby. Not in Mad-Eye's place though. But since she has killed both Fred & Dobby, I'm glad she didn't decide to kill Ginny too.
About the many characters who were killed off in the book, well its a war. What can one expect? Harry knew so many-surely some had to die.

It made the story more believable when those characters were killed. I liked the Deathly Hallows about as much as I liked Ptolemy's Gate (which means alot); except for the ending. The "20 years later" part at the end of the Deathly Hallows was shockingly stupid. The ending to Ptolemy's Gate was good.
When I set out from the boy's attic window, my head was so full of competing plans and complex strategems that I didn't look where I was going and flew straight into a chimney.

Something symbolic in that. It's what fake freedom does for you.
I dunno why everyone hates the epilogue. True, the ending of Ptolemy's Gate was loads better then DH. But the epilogue wasn't bad....I liked it. It was what I expected if Harry survived.

It was just rather suprising how perfectly it had fitted in the bad fanfic scenerio One Big Happy Weasley Family ending where Harry and Ginny get married, Ron and Hermione get married, both families have a millions kids with crappy names, and things happen in accordance to "all was well."

...But no. I refuse to still be bitter.

It was basically "and they lived happily ever after". It was a pretty unrealistic and annoying ending to a good series.

Well, I guess it depends on one's view. I feel Harry deserved a 'happy ending' after all that he has suffered. But tell me, according to you, how should the book have ended?

Well, apart from that ending from Apollo, I think the original ending is too perfect, and maybe something a little more realistic was needed.

Well I dunno.... :-/

Just NOT Harry , Hermione . Ron and Ginny all grown up and being parents and having like three kids each (with horrible names like Hugo... :X )....

I just thought JK could finish the series with a MUCH better ending...

Okay:

Ginny will hit by a car and die. *yay*
Draco's bald head is horror enough.
And AS/S shall be the best ship of all.

Considering things, it was fairly realistic.
Harry doesn't become PM or anything, he has a family and kids.
I liked it, seemed appropriate.
