My point exactly. Wrapped up the story with a nice little pink ribbon. Bit disappointing for me. After 7 books leading up to it, I think a cooler ending would have been appropriate. I would have been able to stand it, however, if not for all their kid's stupid names.

I thought Albus Severus , Lily and James were ok names...Like of course he would name his kids after his parents...And I suppose Dumbledore and Snape were two of the most important characters (that died)....

Well, I understand the reasons you guys give for not liking the epilogue, but no one's given a better alternative ending. More deaths.....so vague & senseless. A better reason? And not liking the names, can't actually be a reason.

I have a better alternative; no epilogue at all. It was entirely pointless.

Yeah, that's a good alternative. The only one I could come up with too(excluding minor modifications to the current epilogue). But I prefer an epilogue to sans. It includes loads of info.

Anyway, have a look on wikipedia, it has more information on what happens to Harry and the rest after the 7th book, which wasn't included in the epilogue.

I would prefer if there wasn't an epilogue...But it wasn't just that...Like the book was already (for me at least) a big let down...The cheesy epilogue was just the cherry on the cake.... :P

Or at least fix that 'all was well' typo. It's 'AS/S was well' dammit!

Personally, I thought the epilogue was lame and a total cop-out, just in case fans went after JK Rowling for not giving a happy ending. Something more melancholic (but still celebratory) would have worked for the aftermath of the battle. Not a fan-ficky ending.
