He was so nice in the third book, actually the more you read, the better he gets. :)

I stopped reading Barty for a few months..but I'll pick it up again later. He's pretty annoying in the 2nd book though

i liked the whole selfish thing. i cant stand people who do stupid self sacrificing things like that. i for one would have just gone to australia and waited for someone else to deal with it, but no. nat did it himself and ended up being killed.

I think there would have been a bit of contraversy if he'd just run off, human like other humans being heros!

Not to me, my dads off to Afghanistan in a few weeks. All the people going are heroes but if you ask me or most of their families they would be much better off in a nice little bookshop selling b ooks to old ladies and little kids.

Well, it was a good change Nat wasn't a hero. Besides, the way Nat grew up, it's amazing Nat even has ANY good qualities. Besides love makes you do crazy things. (You know, Nat, Kitty, the whole tragic fact that the pairing couldn't make it. *sniff*) Nat's a complex character, and the fact that he was both a hero and a villian was awesome, the aspects even out each other and keep him interesting.

Nah....every bad person needs someone to love although he should have taken the amulet from kitty and worn it himself. then maybe he would have surrvived.

It might have survived the magical attacks, but the amulet doesn't protect against physical attacks.

Had he been wearing the amulet, he wouldn't have dismissed Barti, and he'd have been able to hold the building off Nate for long enough for him to escape, with his Seven League Boots.
