Would Bartimaeus have risked it?

Oh yeah. Two way kill. Death by gunfire, and finished off with an overkill of suicide bomber.
Except that this could have been prevented if her stupid protectors and bodyguards actually did their job instead of trying to be in the spotlight.
And lets just say I prefer writing to politics.
The Pakistani Government is now claiming she got killed becoz she (while ducking the bullets) hit the car lever! Imagine that! Anything to take the blame away from them.

How did we get to talking about assassinations, politicians, and writers?

The same way we end up about talking about loads of random things.

Well, this is bartiforums.
More the reason to do so :D .

Oddly, Ianna and Apocrypha are the usual ones to make random comments.

Which is sad, cause at one point in time I kept the members...or tried to...straight on track.

Its more fun when we discuss random things plus the topic. Anyway, it gives me an opportunity to increase my posts.

To clear up some things on the Bhutto assasination.
Her body gaurds tried, they really did.
She wanted to be in the middle of the crowd, a bodygaurds nightmare.
She was offered by the government a protected cage like the pope has, yet she refused.
She could have been sved, but for her own...
Not stupidity, or vanity, but perhaps lack of foresight into the dangers to come...

On topic, I don't think Bartimaeus would have risked it.

Yes, she wanted to be with her people. I understand that. I like that. But she just couldn't understand that it was better that she was hidden and still alive but dead but seen clearly. At least then she would still be a light.
Yeah, doubt it. Nat kinda did deserve to die...
What the hell am I saying?

Maybe he didn't deserve to die, no...
I mean, come on, he wasn't exactly a saint now was he?
Though I think he cleaned up towards the end, negating his sins...

I personally think he would have left Nathaniel. He couldn't leave Nathaniel's body but until he was dismissed. "We do have a bond of sorts, but for the present there are limits to it" as Bartimaeus said to Nouda. He was having thoughts about leaving while he and Nathaniel were goading Nouda out of hiding. Obviously that was the limit

Same here, he would have left, but would have thought about it afterwards, as well.

I definitely agree with that.

i think he wouldnt have left nat.. during the last few pages nat changed a considerable bit.. and the very reason he did change was not completely his fault.it was the surrounding government atmosphere..it made him change.for the worst.but bart knew that.. he knew that nat was actually nat,not mandrake.though in GE he did say your no more the nathaneil i knew.now your plain john mandrake... nat realised what he meant only in the ending of PG.and thats why he agreed to let bart into his body.he trusted himenough to let him in with the risk of him devouring his brain..like the other demons..

so well..he wouldnt have left nat...and i dont think he even has.after nats last gift, bart must have conjured up some way of saving nat..he couldnt let him die!not after he let ptolemy die at least.he dint want to lose another wonderful master all over again.

but..all these are just assumptions. JS knows everything.or maybe not..not just yet anyway..

When I started this topic, I really thought Bart would'nt mind dying with Nat, thought he liked Nat (only towards the end) as much as Ptolemy, but now I am not that sure. They did have a strong bond, but I am sure they would'nt risk their lives for each other. Mightbe if they had known each other for a longer time...
