Try sending links to youtube.com, ebuddy.com, mediafire.com, deviantart.com, googlepages.com or xanga.com via windows live messenger. They're blocked. Those are the only ones I've found so far - other links I've tried work.
Conspiracy!

This small internet conspiracy shall grow into a huge, phenomenal, Internet Revolution.

And I know what group/organization/movement is to blame: Anonymous!

Actually, that might be pretty probable. ;)

Block on most of those has been lifted; www.googlepages.com, www.mediafire.com and www.ebuddy.com are still blocked.

Could it depend on where people live?

Everyone I've checked it with has been getting the same as me wherever they live.

That whole thing is very confusing. I looked into it for a while, and it baffled me. Let us refrain from speaking of it.

So, do we have a reason for the blockage?

It's speculated that it was either an error (odd error that blocks a bunch of sites that directly compete with some of Microsoft's web 2.0 services) or linked to the launch of a similar video service, Messenger TV, by Microsoft in the same week..

In Theory, they do.
In Theory, the "massive" consumer base wouldn't be able to get to their competitors, slowing down said competitors traffic.

Stupid Microsoft. In Theory, of course.

They felt truly (and justifiably) invincable after killing.Netscape, Java, OPEN GL and such in the 90s, but their recent ventures have tanked.
The iPod sold more units in February then Zunes have sold period. So much for their iPod-killer Theory.
Vista's a "chrome-plated turd," as one review said.
So much for the Tiger-killer Theory.
Silverlight actually looks like it might have a chance, if Java, Android, and H.264 don't knock it off first. Which they, In Fact, will.

The Titanic's sinking, they're getting desperate.
Their brute force approach, and misguided attempts against rivals like this and their "bid" for Yahoo! just won't cut it.
The only cool thing they evr did was make Halo and Gears of War on the 360, the platform they still managed to loose money on...
Pfft
Fact: Abandon Ship!
Theory: WE CAN HOLD OUT!

Microsoft is not some circle of despotic Overlords with a Dark Army. It's a corporation with more money reserves than even google.

Just a screwup, obviously. A screwup that *just happened* to block a bunch of sites that are direct competitors to some of Microsoft's services. Complete coincidence.

Come on I was making a point.
Besides, don't we all rant at least once in awhile?

So what, your a Apple advocate then? Or something else?

I accept Microsft as my "overlord." I heart them.

I don't think it's fair to rant about the 360 etc. That's just something people pick at. They made tons of money on it, along with the Halo Franchise, and they deserve it, for the most part. It was a stroke of genius in both the fields of entertainment and Capitalism.

I'm back!
Anyway, from what I just read, it seems that because the blocking wasn't requested from Mircosoft...that means they were hacked!
:P
What's up with the 360? It's allright now.
