The First Book

Amulet Of Samarkand
Shadow 7 Foliot
did this use to be about the first book? .. .. ..
'"That's right," I said "Me. What, did you think that I'd be all nice and quiet for you? Think again, sonny. There are two of us in this body now. Check this out."
To prove my point I lifted one of his fingers and methodically picked his nose. He uttered a squawk of protest. "Stop that!"'
I lowered the arm. "That's not all I can do if I put your mind to it"'

Yeah. I said something relating to the book, and then at the end, I mentioned how bitter I was to have waited longer for the third book following since I was American. It all went downhill from there.

:ninja2: NINJA THREAD HIJACK :ninja3:

The running jokes on one of the other forums I visit are that:
Thread hijacking is the board's official sport and
Hijacked threads go to Cuba.

Also, they say 'I'm a fat racoon' not 'I've got to go' after one of the admins messed around with the swear filter. They fixed the filter, but the fat racoon stuck.
Don't ask.

Not only was the last post over two weeks ago, but it was nowhere near a pirate ninja debate.

Well if it's safe to talk about AOS again ( :D lol! ) I found the trilogy at half priced books, and bought all three ;) I had heard they were good, but I had no idea they were *this* good. Needless to say it's been hard finding a book now that can live up to it :D Aw well.....:P

I know, it's going to be very hard to find a bood that surpasses Bartimaeus Trilogy in all the combined genres the book has to offer. :mouth:

Indeed, the Bartimaeus Trilogy is good. Particularly the sarcastic djinni. That's what's missing from all the other fantasy out there.
*runs off to edit a sarcastic djinni into the Inheritance Trilogy*

Havn't had a chance to read those yet *marks it next on book list*, and I agree, a bit of Bartimaeus in a few of my already fave books, and you wouldn't get me to put them down :D

:post: <--- Good old Bartimaeus ( what time period did he say he was trapped in that bottle? lol! )

I don't think it was Barti who got trapped in a bottle, was it? Just a djinni he'd heard of.

It was Barty :D I just doubled checked my PG

Quote Barty: ( after having entered Nat's body )

'Believe me, I know all about bottle acoustics. I spent much of the sixth century in an old sesame oil jar, corked with wax, bobbing about in the Red Sea. No one heard my hollers. In the end an old fishermen set me free, by which time I was desperate enough to grant him several wishes. I erupted out in the form of a smoking giant, did a few lightning bolts, and bent to ask him his desire. Poor old boy had dropped dead of a heart attack. There should be a moral here, but for the life of me I can't see one.'

Ah, yes of course. I was thinking of when Kitty tries to trap him in a bottle in GE, he mentions a djinni who was trapped in a lamp.

I didn't like the Inheritence Trilogy so much.

It was pretty good, but seemed like Lord of the Rings/Star Wars/Other Fantasy.
