well of course. they will make commercial, potter-a-like film, just action and tears with heartbreaking music. you'll see. they don't care for the idea of the story.

Oh, and they must get a good voice-actor for Bartimaeus. At all costs.

Yeah, that is definitely one of the most important things that they just have to do right. Although I honestly can't think of anyone that would work, though.

I just know it's going to be a screw up,. No book to movie conversion has ever been any good (except LotR).

The reason most movies taken from good books are ruined is the script writer's fault. The director just wants a box office break on the first weekend, which will flop on the next em, four weeks and then go to dvd. And the special effects are ruined too, and most of the the main point of the plot is stupid and corny, the actors will be okay, but not to the full expectations. Personally, if they get a kid's opinion or even Jonathan's opinion, then the movie would be a bit better, but unless something like lotr movies turn satisfying, well...look what happened to Eragon.
And Billy Crystal should play Barty if the movie goes on a suicide run...I think he matches Bart's sarcastic personality.

They'd have to use a lot of CGI effects wouldn't they? That'd take large chunk out of the budget...

Ah, I'd like to see them try, then fail miserably. Gives them a lesson to learn, since most people think the Eragon movie was pretty good.

I never said I like it...I said others liked the movie. Besides, they might not ruin this one. The lord of the rings movies were good. There's always that chance...I hope. So don't look down.
