No. Really, the only information we have is that it's intended to be made for 2009. In theory. Maybe. Hopefully.

I'm generally pretty lax about book-turned-movies, and I haven't been majorly disappointed yet. I'm quite optimistic about this movie, personally.

They'll obviously not give it the budget it deserves.

Like another book-movie conversion we know of, but I'm afraid if I speak it's name something bad might happen.

If you're referring to that, I don't think there's much in common between the two books. If we were to compare Bartimaeus to His Dark Materials or LOTR where there's a lot of running in the wilderness and outrageously grand places and epic battles of swords, polar bears or airships, I just think Bartimeaus could do with a slightly smaller budget in comparison?

I saw the Dark is Rising trailer when I saw The Bourne Ultimatum on Sunday. Looks pretty good, they changed the early story a bit, but everything looks great.

Does anyone know if they going to be auditions for any parts? hehe. :D

That's not going to happen.
An Artemis Fowl movie's pretty likely, but I highly doubt they're going to stay that true to the story.
They'll have to cut some stuff out too.

If Eoin Colfer's working on the screenplay, as he said in an interview, then it's probably going to stay true to the "heart of the story", at least. Or rather, "stories", since they're talking about books 1 and 2 together, which doesn't sound too bad.

Well it depends if they make a movie per book. The books aren't that long so they shouldn't have to cut anything out, and I would LOVE to be in Bartys movie... idk who yet though...

the movie could be good, i aagree, if they stick to the script...i hate it in movies when i'm watching with a friend and theres a part thats all emotional....it screws up the movie and makes it corny!!
