If Amulet of Samarkand has a 125+ million budget, has a few good actors to play the lead roles (Bart, Lovelace, Faquarl etc.) and has a length of over 1 hour 45 minutes, there is a very good chance that it could be a very good movie.
Yup, most idiot directors make the movie shorter then it should be. *cough*eragon*cough*
I'm not quite sure how actors can play the djinn without breaking a few essential body parts. Shouldn't the spirits be computer generated?
I'd guess they'd have most of the spirits cgi, but have Bart's, Faquarl's, and Jabor's favored forms real actors. But it would be very hard to show Bart in the trilogy, Plotemy's form does not age between all three books, so Ptolemy's form may have to be cgi.
You're being a bit optimistic. Who says the movies will even get past the first one? Have you seen Point Blanc in movie or Eldest in movie Yet?
You taking to me or DaAlCh?
Lets assume his mighty authorness won't let them Screw this as they (royally) did with Eragon.

CaffeineRiot.com Hi everybody!
I am french and Bart's fan since I read those books and this movie idea is frightening me! Indeed, Bart's Trilogy seems to be unknown in France or very few! (we don't even find it in shops, I had to dig hard to find it after having read it at the library!) and I am afraid a french adaptation would never be made if it does not work in UK.
I would like it to be a great movie but I fear they would not stick to the story (what's the most important as someone said in the topic). I really hope Jonathan Stroud will insist on having a similar screenplay than the book.
The best would be to take Bart's fans to act, don't you think?! :D

Yes that has been replied many times in this forum. And really, it shouldn't frighten you, unless you get temper tam trams. :D

Tantrums, do you mean? :D
I said I'd stop spelling and grammar-nazi-ing, but this was too funny to waste.
I wish I were a cat-dragon
Oh shush. I meant to spell it that way.
No sarcastic remarks. Besides, the spellcheck said it was like that, even though I knew it was wrong, so I just left it.
That explains why I did not find any translation for tam trams in my dictionnary!
I thought you were talking about trams in London....??!!

You actually looked it up in the dictionary!?
Yeah, I would have done that same stupid thing too.
How could I know it was a mistake! I am french, not english native speaker! <_<

Apologies to a Canadian i suppose, and now back to topic.

CaffeineRiot.com Thank you, I'm Canadian.
Nope, nothing new about the film. Its so slow.
*sigh* i hope it gets cancelled. After "Eragon" i dont think i can take anymore...
Personally, I think you are too stubborn in you ideals.
well im just worried theyll mess it up comepletely. if they try i'll like it, I think. The Narnia movie was perfect.
For my part, I 'm waiting for the movie, I am too impatient to see the actors, if the director imagined them just like us. For Nath, no doubt, but the others...
