Yeah, teenagers are way more likely to register on internet forums. Plus, seeing that fantasy books nearly always are put under "children" section, adults don't read them and many seem to think these books are only meant for children. Some think fantasy is beneath them. Plus, most adults never seem to have the time or have just given up reading altogether.
In my view, middle-aged adults seldom read. However, old aged people (mainly those who have retired) read loads of books due to availability of time and boredom. And, if you introduce them to fantasy and get them convinced, they read and enjoy those books too. This has been my observation.
My grandfather was the biggest example. I got him to read Artemis Fowl, Inheritance and Harry Potter. He loved the first two, but didn't like HP one bit. I had just introduced him to Bartimaeus Trilogy, but just around then he got a stroke and died.
