The 2009 Film

Amulet Of Samarkand
How dare you Sam is a linchpin of of the series
Mindi Jackson , I think I'm in love. Now I just need to get famous.
But if his role is too big, it would be like throwing him in the audience's faces. Aren't cameos usually more subtle and clever?

Oh, really?

JS playing a cameo role sounds weird to me. But it would be nice for the movie.

What does it say about us as fans if we want the writer to cameo as a character who is viciously murdered?

Just sounds suspicious, that's all I'm sayin'.

I think that pic matched perfectly with what we're talking about.

It means that the Bartimaeus Movie will most likely start being made during the next Solar Eclipse. Which don't happen so often.

OH I KNOW! Stroud could be a friend of Underwood's that he talks to for all of 5 seconds. :D
Having him play a character who gets murdered is not my idea.

He can just be a background character who just walks by. I know if you watch movies that are based of Stephen King's novels, you'll see Mr. King in the background, or as some character insignificant.

In Maximum Overdrive he was the first character to appear in the movie, and actually had some lines. The fact that he directed it may have something to do with it.

Could be. I also remembered in X-men 3. Stan Lee was watering his lawn when Prof. X went to get Jean.

Stan Lee is in almost every Marvel film/game. He's a senator in Marvel: Ultimate Alliance 2.

Tarrantino usually has some kind of role. Lucas and other production members have itty bitty cameos in the Star Wars flicks.

 I don't want 'em to make a Barti film. I'm like 99,99% sure that it'll suckit won't be as great as the books are. I don't want 'em to do what they did to Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince...
"When I get sad, I stop being sad and be awesome instead. True story".
I sometimes am not sure too if I want to see the Barty film. But I still want it because it will make more people read the book and see how awesome it is.

Well movies tend to not follow books. Thats when you separate the two so you can enjoy both. Cause come on, The Harry Potter movies are good movies. (Not too great, cant compare then to Avatar now), But they were decent movies. I would like a Bart movie for the awe aspect of "Omg! I read that book! Oh man! There's Bartimaeus!!"

Book movies suck!

But seriously, how many book movies have you actually watched before reading the book(s)?
D'you think Kitty likes Hello Kitty?
I have watched hardly any like that. Because I believe that watching a movie before reading a book is not right. I have done it for very few movies like LoTR (because, try as I might, I couldn't complete the books) and Prince Caspian:Chronicles of Narnia (I read the first book before watching the first movie, but I didn't like the book. Too kiddish. So I didn't bother reading the second one). But I know many people who don't like reading books, but have started reading it after watching the movie.

Like Twilight? >.>

I only watch movies that I've read before and liked enough to be interested in. Which is even more disappointing when it finally comes out.

Uh..a lot of movies that were books are great.

Shawshank Redemption

The Godfather

12 Angry Men

2001 A Space Odyssey (Though the book was kinda of a companion)

Gone with the Wind

Sin City

Etc....
I think it is safe to say that a majority of movie scripts are adaptations from books. Like a lot of them are. And they are still good movies. Now if I have read a book, and saw that a movie was coming out, I would go watch the movie because of it.

I really didn't know so many English movies are adaptations from books. Most of the ones I know aren't half as good as the books. But I watch like 3 English movies a year.
