What should I call Datsyuk now? Datsyukani? Possibly then he would be more sensitive to other people's gender?

Oh.
Oh dear, now I get it.
That's twice now, to the same person, isn't it?

SO ANYWAYS... no word on anything, should we just bust down Time Warner's door and ask if they know anything?

They wouldn't tell us. Time Warner employees are bound by a sacred oath to reveal nothing.

Might happen. But not this year for sure... All we know is this.

I don't think that was the link you meant to post. Pretty picture, though.

All we really know is Miramax bought the rights to the film.
hi there
*dies laughing*

Anyway, that page is more up to date than any other I'd seen before.

As to why Bartimaeus is years and years (possibly never) away from getting made, let me 'splain.

After Harry Potter everyone and their mother started buying up the rights to children's fantasy novels, only a few of which have gotten made (many of them much more famous than Bartimaeus). Of course, the last 5 or so (minus HP and Twilight, obviously) bombed horrifically, so the likelyhood of it getting made anytime soon is pretty low. Especially since recent economic hardships have meant that Hollywood will be sticking to "safer" properties. This means bad sequel after bad sequel; seriously, look at all the movies that the major studios have lined up for the next couple of years. Like half are sequels or remakes of better known properties.

Now, Miramax also has the rights to another children's fantasy, the Artemis Fowl series. Since those are much better known, they'll likely be what Miramax does first. This is if they ever do; the adaptation is currently in development hell, where it probably will stay for the forseeable future. If that does well, then we will just maybe get an Amulet movie.

Don't keep your hopes up.

Actually, GO FUZZY.
:D

I didn't know Miramax has Fowl, but I did know it was in developmental hell. Amid rewrites and issues over shooting location, their lead got too old to play.
Colfer was slated to cameo as a Goblin.

Think Stroud will make a cameo?
