I didn't like the movie. It was really fastpaced. For those who didn't read the book they wouldn't get it. I also think that Da Vinci Code was a good fiction book, yet I don't believe it. Angels and Demons was better than Da Vinci Code.
The movie wasn't
too confusing.
And I haven't read the book. (Except for the first three chapters.)
流口水的婊子和猴子的笨儿子。
Well, the movie wasn't as good as the book for sure.
I just finished reading the last book in the HDM series and I was crying. It's so wierd 'cause I don't cry because of books, except for maybe the last page of Lotr.
Anyways, I had to say that. It was so sad. They grew up...
Edit: Sorry, that was a random emo moment.
I read HDM, and the last book was sad, I guess. I'm kinda unfeeling though so. That's just wasted on me.
Barti isn't
that unique, he's a blend of (to me anyway) the genie from Aladdin and Terry Pratchett/the entity who narrates the Discworld books. The political aspect of the books is new to me though.
Whoo...great to see more people reading HDM. I have a feeling that in 50 years time, people will be elevating it to lit and studying it in universities. (like LotR) It's seriously underrated now imo. Guess it might be because Pullman is still alive and people just prefer dead artists.
Nothing to see here, move along.
HDM... HDM... The style forced, the tone is anti religion, you never hear the other side of the arguement. It's overated, but very good nevertheless.
Barti burrows a lot, but the end result is excellent.
Shame of the Super Son
I didn't like the Sally Lockheart series, but I only read the first 2 books
The style was forced? There are some flowery descriptions that would've been out of place in another book, but they suited the books very well.

Hmm...I guess the Discworld series tastes sort of like the Bartimaeus series, only it's better in some ways.
The Da Vinci Code? Dan Brown is clever and smart and seems to think about things, but he isn't a very good writer.
I like his style, it kept you interested with the suspense.
Duh, any thriller worth it's keep will.
Th premise facinates, the writing is well... not so well.

That was good at first, but he did it too much and the chapter ends seemed more like commercial breaks than suspensful transitions.
Yeah, read Digital fortress?
Shame of the Super Son
I read it, the other one was better, about the Arctic or something?
.... You didn't read it.
