Right back to the PMs.....

Do you think blame that the government is corrupt mostly Gladstone's fault (since he started the Night Police, the government's system, ect.) or the current magicians?

Just curious.

Gladstone started a chain reaction.

How much of the current government did you think that was handed down from Gladstone's policys?

I thought about 75%.

I think its the current magicians fault since they continued it. They're supposed to be newer and therefore more civilzed.

And it was neccesary in Gladstone's time because they were at war. The night police are just a waste of taxpayers money and emphasise the lack of trust the gov't has for the commoners

But let's keep in mind all the other magicians after Gladstone are brainwashed.

By him?

I don't think he had the time...I always thought he was halfway decent anyway.

There were other magicians who helped him set up rule.

The government is based on him.

Right.

But this proves he is no more heroic than the other magicians. And vain.

Bartimaeus stated once to Nat he didn't have it in him to be like Gladestone. Because he wasn't nearly nasty enough.

Nat proved him wrong. (Temporarily.)

Well Barti would be naturally baised against Gladstone wouldn't he? He's a djinn and Gladstone's a magician

Gladstone just seems like a bastard.

Maybe my view is too British.

Yes, but he has admitted that some magicians are ok, if they wouldn't enslave him, that is.

oO

Its seem Jonathan Stroud did base most of his charactors off of people in real life.

Gladstone did defeat Prague, who were righting Britain, though we don't know who really was to blame.
