Does anyone want to know anything about the past Prime Ministers. Because they're all from history like Gladstone and Churchill. I kinda wanna know how they became Prime Ministers and they're great magical achievments. Anyone else? :hmm:

I think Apocrypha meant within the Bartimaeus Trilogy.

All that I know about Gladestone is found within The Golem's Eye when Kitty and Jakob are in school.

Its not really mentioned that much in the Trilogy...just a few words for good old Churchill.

The book mentions Disraeli too, and as one of the Gladstone’s biggest enemies, right? I have read some of Disraeli's books, they are quite good.

Yes. They mentioned him in AoS, right?

Going back to Gladstone....

He got the commoners to hand over the reigns to him during the whole Seige of Prague thing. And so started the magician's government.

About Gladstone and Prague...My history teacher told me that Prague was never really burnt or destroyed.

Yeah... and no offence, but the real Gladstone is kinda boring.

He was just a politician, but I like the way Stroud made up the whole story behind him.

I agree.

Though I found the real one a bit intresting. Possibly because I'm American and find anything about England fascinating.

What is your nationality, Luciene?

In the books did it even directly state Churchill was a magician or just a great leader?

I'm Canadian eh? And magician I think. They only gave the most important jobs to magicians. Kinda racist no?

Canda is awesome!

I've been there a couple of times and it's really pretty.

All of the politicians are magicians. Only powerful (or exceptionally charismatic) magicians get to become Prime Minister.

I know, but did it actually say he was a magician or did it let us assume that?

Ya,

Gladstone was a major Politician of the Time, and you know the statues mentioned in AoS of him, they really do exist in London. Ive seen one of them in person.

That's awesome.

Since I don't live in London, does Highgate really exsist there?

This kind of relates because you saying that reminded me of the statue of Gladstone in the Underwoods garden.
