SIGH, love that good old days
Yes. It does seem that the early years of Bartiforums were more guerilla wars than anything else, doesn't it?

Ugh I know! I remember when I was young and the Mongol horsemen came over the steppes and burnt my little Chinese village. I was only 3, but my mother told me stories of course. Miss those days. *single tear*
Nowadays it's just no fun, isn't it? All those great forces who leave no room for small fights.

I tought you're a Canadian
You see, all Canadians have the magical dual ability to turn into a beaver whenever we want, so I snuck past the Great Wall into the Siberian wastelands and the Inuit made me into a fur hat which they took with them to the Canadian Arctic.
True story :)
That's our boy. ;)
(although I'm definitely a loon. Just saying)

You should be dead at that point, or...*gasp*
Nah, the Inuit are pretty chill. They sew live animals onto their heads for warmth, I was fine
Oh, great, I'm sure I'll never buy their products anymore, I don't want my hat to scratch my head or wags it's tail while I walk
Oh, why not, it should be fine. Interesting at least, and you get a pet out of it.

An approximation of Inuit hat style circa 1200 A.D.
Hahaha
I think that is a different branch of those hatstyles, as you can see, it's not only the inuit.

Cross cultural influences :P
Don't you just love how Disney went with a generally positive co-existence story in Pocahontas and just ignored how the British moved in, gave them small pox and paved over their forests?
They didn't need to- someone already made fun of their shortcomings

So there was an apparent terrorist attack today in Ottawa, Canada :0
Apparently there was one, or apparently it was a terrorist one?

Apparently it was a terrorist one. The perpetrator was a convert to Islam and had discussed travelling to Libya or Syria, but he also had a long history of assorted criminal convictions and mental health issues, so it's not clear whether it was an active terrorist attack or he was just nuts.

He was nuts and had been converted to islamism. That story doesn't even shock nowadays.

I know nobody outside Canada will care, but the conservative political dynasty that held power for 44 years in Alberta just lost the election to the NDP, and that's pretty damn exciting, especially because I got a vote!
