That's what the article says. That it's ridiculous in every way is kinda the point.

You can't agree with the bastards on the other end of the ideological spectrum, they stand against all goodness and decency, their every day in office brings the world one day closer to armageddon.

The ironic part is that ideology has become more and more diluted over the past century, especially after the Soviet Union's disentegration. Today's conservatives are liberals by any standard 50 years ago. All leaders have to be more or less centrist in their economics, all moderate themselves when they actually win power.

I get a feeling that its increasingly tough for the US lawmakers to bring about a change-all because of the corporate-politician nexus.

Yup, increasingly now, its possible only for the centre-right & centre-left to win power. Hardcore ideology isn't working anymore.

We haven't seen the real crisis through. Not on the Climate, not on hunger, not on afganistan, not on ageing. Once the break point is reached, we'll see who actually has the acuity to grab power, and they'll be the ones setting the tone for the next century.

The CCSD sucks.
It's also paranoid.
Even if they loved the president (knowing this town, they do) they'd be too scared to try.
