Nathaniel in the Third Book.

Ptolemy's Gate
Nathaniel is one of my most most most favourite characters ever. . He gave up his life to save the rest;a typical hero.Isn't that precisely why he appeals to most people? He was brilliant in the end,Bart approved, and he wanted to say that to him, only, they were one at that moment,so Nat understood what he wanted to say anyway.[Wow,so many commas. . ]

One bad part though. If Nat wouldn't have died, there would always be a possibility of The Bartimaeus Trilogy Part 2.Oh how I WISH Mr. Stroud comes up with more about the whole series.Anything related to Bart. And Ptolemy. And Nat.And Kitty. .

You've explained it the best so far, Magykgurl. I slightly disagree with your assumption that Natty's sacrifice at the end cleared his entire slate of mistreating djinni, but well said.

Dint say that. Of course he was wrong. I was on Bart's side all along. I totally despised Nat while reading how he ill-treated and tricked djinn.
But then he realized. . So. . . . . . . .

Assuming Nat survived & a bench was set up to look into the cruel treatments meted out to the demons by their masters, how do you think the judges would appraise Nat's previous bad behaviours? Would they pronounce him guilty & ask him to serve sentence or would they let him go free because of his contribution & change of heart? If they give a verdict against him, for how many years do you think he must be sentenced to jail?

Assuming Nat survived, I don't think that a demon-human alliance could've already started that quickly.

Another point is that there are always lesser magicians lingering around.

Well, I'm obviously assuming they started...

Just don't assume Nathaniel survived.

If I should take in these assumptions, then I guess Nat would go unscathed as long as he promises to never mistreat djinn again.

Oh come now, I've spent four and a half pages worth of some other topic, some where, talking about whether or not he could have survived.
The only possible way, is that he triggered the 7 League Boots to get away.
But no, he died.
For reason from you to find, and the fact that Stroud practically pronounces him dead by his writing of Kitty's reaction to it all:
"So much for your promises."

He's dead, people.

We know he is dead. We're just wondering what would have happened if he had somehow managed to survive.
