Ptolemy. Nat and Barti shared the same body on Earth, but Ptolemy was part of Barti and all the rest in the Other Place. Ptolemy crossed to Barti's world to do it, voluntarily.

In Nat's defense here:

A) He cared a bit. In the Golem's Eye and at the beginning of Ptolemy's Gate.
B) He was brainwashed.
C) He saved Bart's life twice. Well, Bart was weak because of him but still...

But what we're talking about here is who has a closer bond to Barti.

And it will always be Ptolemy. Ptolemy. Ptolemy. Ptolemy.

Gah. The 'Nat is so noble' speeches just make me want to ship J/J.

I'm not denying Ptolemy was more deserving, but as Bartimeaus stated, Nathaniel and him were one. You can't get any closer than that. Even in the other place, Ptolemy, like Kitty, kept himself separate. Conversation was needed. Conversation was not needed during the Nat/Barti fusion. They were one.

They still had to talk in the same way Ptolemy and Barti did in the Other Place. They didn't speak, but they had to think to hear each other.

Oh, they did, but more than once Barti states arguing as pointless because they understood each other.

Ptolemy was hours asking questions. So I assume conversation was needed.

I voted nat. although there is no doubt that Ptolemy is the better person, I think Nat was probably the more charming. Exept when he went through his "Parliament' phase.

Defidently Ptomely. He was so much more open and wise than nat ever was, even towards the end.
There is a sort of busy worm,
That will the fairest book deform,
Their tasteless tooth will tear and taint
The poet, patiot,sage or saint,
Nor sparing wit nor learning.
Now, if you'd know the reason why,
The best of reasons I'll supply;
'Tis bread to this poor vermin.

I voted for Ptolemy. Although I think if Nat had had more time, he might've become a much better person.

Maybe.

But we'll never know as he was incinerated/eaten/squished before we could find out.

To be fair, we don't know a lot about Ptolemy, other than what Barti told us.

He could have been a lot more interesting than Nat ever was. And Barti seemed to like him.

Barti like Ptolemy because of Ptolemys character. he let Barti roam around free to return to the Other Place at any time.

He was very interested in the unknown and mysterious, Barti told us that.

i chose Ptolemy because of how much Bartimaeus respected him, but as Nathaniel was the main character, it was hard to decide. I chose Ptolemy in the end.

If we would have known more about Ptolemy we would probably been bored with him.

And he wasn't all that wise. He saw only the good in people, like his cousin.

He didn't see the good in his cousin.

He just saw his cousin's limitations and therefore, didn't view him as a threat.

Yeah, he did. Well, actually it was more of believed the best of them or as you said saw their limitations.

He thought that doing good stuff for him would make his cousin leave him alone.

Like San D'Klaus in Artemis Fowl.

But he was wrong, obviously.
