We were protecting ourselves. Given the scattershot quality and wildly varying tone of the various movies leading up to Avengers, it could have gone so horribly wrong. But it didn't, so that was good. I didn't get to seeing it in the theatres, but I watched it recently (totally legally of course), just after I'd seen TDKR.

I haven't watched TDKR or Spiderman but I liked Avengers a lot!

Studio Ghibli delivers once again with that one.

And I haven't seen Spiderman, TDKR or the Avengers. =p

Batman blew my mind, it was so amazing. I seriously drove home that night, like i was driving the batmobile. I have a theory that the next movie will be Teen Titans with Robin as the main character 'cos ChrisNolan and Christian Bale aren't making more movies.
Oh man I loved Teen Titans

dat classic era of animation.

Anyways, I have not seen any of the superhero movies of this year. Not Spiderman, the Avengers, or TDKR. I think I'm the only one in Mississauga in this situation.
They're apparently starting a new Teen Titans, but sadly with a different art style afaik

I am very disappointed in everyone I know, they announced a third Hobbit movie some months ago and no one told me about it. That aside, super excited, although I went to see ParaNorman last week (starts slow, but it's a great film, maybe even as good as Coraline), arrived late, and missed seeing the trailer on the big screen for the second time. Damn.

RE: Teen Titans. I don't know, different style could work if done right; my sister sure is excited about it. I don't think a movie would happen though, word is they're just going to reboot Batman again in order to have a Justice League movie.

I saw The Cabin in the Woods on Tuesday. Speaking as someone who is not a particularly big fan of horror movies; it was pretty amazing. Puts an interesting spin on a lot of common horror movie tropes, plus I think it's probably one of the only original movies that had a wide release this year (and was, y'know, actually good).

Also got to see Monty Python and the Holy Grail on the big screen last week. Bless you, university movie theatre.

They keep changing their minds about how many Hobbit movies they're making. I think it is settled on three now, though.
Speaking of the Hobbit, everyone's probably seen it by now, but trailer two!

I agree completely with your assessment of Cabin in the Woods. Great film.

I have no idea what movies have released recently. Totally out of touch with the entertainment world.
But there is one thing I am looking forward and I know about. Castle season 5 starting in two days!! Sent, bet you are excited too. :D

I don't really watch it much, but I'll spread the word to people I know that do, thanks.

Me on the second trailer:

Rational, thinking part of brain - Why are they even bothering with a trailer that describes the plot... everyone's going to see it regardless

Rest of brain - ThisisepicthisisepicthisissoepicWHYISITNOTDECEMBERYET?!

(and better than the Man of Steel trailer that gave me the impression that Superman was a Newfie XD)

It's the Hobbit, everyone knows the plot anyway.

Apart from the people who don't
sentynel is gay
I love how every few days r/movies just turns into this giant Hobbit circlejerk.

Can you blame them?

Not necessarily; even if more people have probably read the Hobbit than have read LOTR.

Saw Finding Nemo 3D this week - forgot how much I liked that movie. Although I don't know why I keep going to see the 3D re-releases, given my general ambivalence towards the medium.

*woot* Sauga!!

I haven't watched Avengers yet. But I follow Mindy Kaling on twitter and when the movie came out she was like "I'f I committ a crime, can the avengers come to my house and avenge me?" or something, I can't remember the exact quote butI laughed at that for days, omg.

Can't wait for Les Mis and the new wizard of oz movie. and I want to watch Looper.
