Friday's going to be great.

Had a Canadian films movie festival (by festival, they meant 2, unfortunately) at school on Thursday. Saw Sharkwater and The Red Violin, both of which were very good
What movie did you end up seeing?

Breaking Dawn

Naw, just kidding. Saw The Muppets. It was very good, but kind of strange (I mean, relatively strange, considering it's a Muppet movie). There's quite a few movies out that I'd like to see, actually, but I'm going to have to wait for DVD for most of them.

Speaking of Breaking Dawn, my dad ended up taking my sister to see it. He's a martyr, I swear. Though I was safe, then one of my best friends calls me up and is all "HI WE HAVE TO HANG OUT SOON. I think Edward and Bella miss us." Thankfully, I have no money, so I managed to convince her that I can't afford to see a movie.

Saw Shadow of A Doubt (Alfred Hitchcock) on Friday. It was great, and suprisingly funny for a Hitchcock movie.

Ah, you saw the Muppets? I've been meaning to see that movie too, hopefully by this weekend.

Also, I find Breaking Dawn hilarious, though I haven't seen it. I find it especially funny that not even a director like Bill Condon could get Kirsten Stewart to show some damn emotion. I also find it hilarious that they're seriously dragging out the last book into two parts.
This is my signature. Why yes, I am quite proud of it, thank you very much. I raised the fellow meself.
Watched Mission Impossible: The Ghost Protocol today.

I'm upset about that, since he wrote Chicago and that's one of my favourite movies (though based off a musical, so I suppose there wasn't much to add), he's sunk kind of low. Especially since I hear he's the first Twilight director to take it seriously. On the bright side, a new Twilight means a new episode of my favourite podcast.

Still refusing to see Tintin in theatres for reasons already stated, but the fact that Steven Moffat and Edgar Wright co-wrote it means I'll at least consent to watching it on DVD. Ended up seeing Game of Shadows instead, quite liked it, although I came in late and missed the Hobbit trailer (woe), and when I went to see it a second time with family they didn't show it.

2012 is looking much better for movies than 2011 was. ^_^

True. I'm planning to watch the Woman in Black next month, and then there's the Hobbit, but that's like until the end of the year...

I concur, Tintin was awesome. :D
Just saw Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows this afternoon - not a patch on the bbc series of course, but it was okay. Also finally got round to watching Limitless, which kept me entertained a lot more than watching Robert Downey Jr beat people up...

Can't wait for the Hobbit!
Bartimaeus: It won't be the only mad thing about if you let this lot go. Check out that one at the end. He's taken the form of a footstool. Weird...but somehow I like his style.
Nathaniel: That is a footstool. No one's using that Pentacle.
Gonna watch Beauty and the Beast sometime this week...just for the experience of watching a classic Disney movie on the big screen. :)

Definitely. I had the opportunity to see both BatB and the Lion King at an IMAX theatre when I was ten, it was amazing. This past weekend I got to see in theatres both The Big Miracle (pretty good, not as cheesy as I thought it would be), and SERENITY, which is absolutely freaking fantastic on the big screen.

So, considering there's a ton of great movies out this year, I'm considering seeing as many as I can and writing reviews as a side project for my film class. Would anyone be interested in my posting them here?

Eh, I'll believe it when I see it.

Oh man, I am so jealous of you seeing Serenity in the cinema. I have the blu-ray version, which is pretty impressive on my setup, but nothing on that.

I'd be interested.

Okay, I will be sure to post nothing that bothers, angers or otherwise offends you. [/blatant lies]

So my life has been kind of crazy the last couple weeks, but I'm on school break, so I should be able to get some reviews up. Nothing that's out in theatres right now, but I've watched some recent releases and old classics I want to review, and I want to make it out to see The Secret World of Arrietty this week.

Okay, of Avengers, Spider-man, and DKR, which did everyone prefer? Although they're very different types of movies, I liked Avengers the most.

I haven't seen Spiderman and don't intend to, but I'd say Avengers edges TDKR.

And I repeat: BATMAAAAANNNNNNNN.

More comprehensive analysis may be available when I see both TDKR and Avengers again, because there was about a three month gap between seeing them (the only full movies I think I've seen in the last six months, because my attention span got really short all of a sudden).

Oh so you actually saw The Avengers then? I remember going on IRC before the movie came out and going "It's gonna be so awesomeeee!" and you and DC just being like "meh."

I have 0 interest in seeing Spiderman in theatres, because I disliked the last three and (even though it's a reboot), I'm kind of expecting more of the same here.
