COLUMBO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And Princess Bride.
YES. Will watch those too, we've got most of the show on DVD. Did you know he had a glass eye?

Ooh, my family just found a copy of Princess Bride at a garage sale. It's a new edition with the title being an ambigram, which really impressed me.

Transformers is amazing. Fantastic. I've never seen a movie with better dialogue, depth of character, and pacing. The CGI is nothing compared to the plot. OMG. BETTER THAN THE GODFATHER.

And the English blond chick is hot.

Lol jk. It's a pretty horrible film.

But the blond girl is pretty hot.

CGI ftw, however.

I expected it to be bad, but still, the teaser trailer (with the moon landing) looked really interesting. Guess I'll just go and see Apollo 18 when it comes out instead.

What movies are you guys looking forward to seeing this summer?

Captain America!

Uh, still haven't seen X-Men First Class or Green Lantern

Harry Potter and Transformers mainly. Possibly even Spy Kids.
But Harry Potter definitely.

Why?

Saw Captain America. So. Amazing. And of course Hugo Weaving was amazing as Red Skull.

I saw HP. =D
The best of the lot, I felt.

Really? I felt it was a huge disappointment in all departments.

I still think the first four were the best. Before Yates came aboard with his team.
I liked it. Some of the scenes weren't as cinematic as I'd hoped, but since it's technically one half of a whole movie, I suppose that's expected. Liked Part 1 a bit better I think, although I think I'm going to wait a few months and then watch the whole series start to finish, see what I think of it then.
Stuff I did like was a few changes that they made in pacing, and I actually think that the Snape stuff worked much better on screen then it did in the book, it was probably my favourite scene here (in the book I didn't really care for it). King's Cross and Voldemort's actually death scene were pretty meh (although I like how they cut up Harry fighting him with other stuff) and I couldn't help but laugh at the "Let's squeeze the prophecy in here for a few seconds for those of you who haven't read the books" and apparently Harry's a magical horcrux detecting dog now.

Suprisingly, I thought they did a decent job with the epilogue, although that may just be because they gave Albus Serverus a FERRET! :P

Also saw Rango recently. Fantastic, fantastic movie. Very weird, but in a good way.

Eh, no it didn't. Snape's love for Lily was not really sold that well, in terms of presentation. Alan Rickman (like a boss) did it very well, but I just couldn't see Snape's perspective well. In particular, the scenes in their childhood could have been a little bit more expanded - the time it took for the credits to pass in the beginning (with the huge ass Warner Bros. logo and the thirty minute shot of "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows...Part TWO!") would have served better in that sense.

Perhaps the book scene didn't go for you, that for me, that defined Snape as the deep but flawed and dark hero of the entire series. A character who loved a woman he could never be with, but still lived on for her. Because of that scene, and it's magnitude in relation to the entire series, makes Snape one of my favourite heroes though (he was still pretty awesome before).

And for me, all of Yate's films are pretty much "Let's squeeze everything about the books into a little bit over two hours for those of you who haven't read the books."

Also, the actress playing Lily did not have the same eyes as Daniel Radcliff. I can understand the infrequency of something like that particular shade of eye colour, but seeing how it's how Snape sees Lily in Harry...it kept pissing me off the entire bit of the movie after that scene.
I have started watching How I Met Your Mother. I find it pretty awesome and very hilarious.
Also watched Hangover and A Beautiful Mind recently.

I love How I Met Your Mother and The Hangover. They're both among my favourite tv shows/movies. ^_^ Haven't even heard of A Beautiful Mind though - what did you think of it?
Bartimaeus: It won't be the only mad thing about if you let this lot go. Check out that one at the end. He's taken the form of a footstool. Weird...but somehow I like his style.
Nathaniel: That is a footstool. No one's using that Pentacle.
It was good. It was based on John Nash's life. (Quite a few of the stuff were fabricated though.) I enjoyed it, but not too much. I don't know why, it is usually the kind of movie even critics admire a lot.

Back To The Future trilogy.
Just realized that the last three posts are by me. >>

Good call.

Random plug: Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy is an absolutely amazing movie and you should all see it ASAP. (Though I don't think it's out in the US until December for some reason.) Everyone I know who's seen it loves it, and it has 97% on Rotten Tomatoes. It's atmospheric, intelligent, with perfect casting and amazing acting.

Nah, I don't think it's out here yet.

Last movie I saw in theatres was The Lion King 3D. It was fantastic, less because of the 3D, which was meh (then again I think all 3D is meh, so take from it what you will) but because it's The Lion King. Been watching a lot of other movies at home and in class (animation course ftw).

I can't stand the post-processed 3D, though I imagine that might work a little better with an animated film like The Lion King.

I saw Tron Legacy which was filmed in 3D and it was a decent effect, but I'm not convinced it actually added anything to the film.
