Why?

I'm going to be seeing loads of movies these vacations. Because I never get time to see them when I have college.

Also Footstool, seen Guzaarish? I'll be watching it now.

Saw Peepli Live too. Satirical and short. I liked the movie, but it shouldn't have been India's entry for the Oscars. It is not like Lagaan or anything.

I asked why you have to go and see it if you don't like it.
And yeah, I saw DH part 1 again and I didn't like it this time. >>

I am watching Toy Story 3. Awesome so far. :D

Closure :D

Also, even if the movie is not the best overall, it will still have cool parts within it. And my friends will be talking about it.

Hotel Rwanda.
It is a truly awesome and touching movie.

Anyone seen Thor or the new Pirates? Worth it?

I haven't seen either (middle of exam season and all), but Thor's been well reviewed (78% on RottenTomatoes) and looks like fun.
Pirates 4, on the other hand, has managed a lower RT score than any previous film, at a mere 33% (with the previous ones getting 78%, 54% and 45% respectively).

I am going to see the new Pirates tomorrow. Will tell you.
33% is way too less rating for a Potc film. The 2nd and 3rd deserved better ratings, I think. Or might be people expect much better stuff or feel things are quite similar.
Either way, Potc deserves better.

I want to watch POTC as well!!
Heard from a friend that it wasn't that good. And I think that Penelope Cruz sucks. But Johny Depp may fix it a bit.

Saw the movie. It was good. Not as good as the others, but I still enjoyed it. Worth a watch anyway.
And yes, Penelope Cruz is nowhere as good as Keira Knightley.

And I saw a few short films too today. On homosexuality mainly.

According to my estimates, I must have seen some 20 movies this last month.
Kind of a record.

Watched Shrek 4.
Really cute. And not bad, actually. But nothing beats the first one.

I dunno, I really liked 2

Yeah 2 owned.

Yeah, I actually liked Shrek and Pirates 4. Then again, I don't know what the big problem was with the Pirate's sequels anyway (first is still the best by a long shot though), other than the obvious plot issues. Getting sick and tired of pointless 3D though, especially since my eyes usually stop noticing it after the first 20 minutes.

Wanting to see the Kung Fu Panda sequel. Hangover 2 looks too much like a retread of the first one to me, I'll wait for the DVD.

Nope, haven't seen Guzarish. Is it worth watching?
Last movie I saw was Fast and Furious 5, which was completely and utterly awesome. I can't wait for exams to be over so I can watch X-Men. :D
Bartimaeus: It won't be the only mad thing about if you let this lot go. Check out that one at the end. He's taken the form of a footstool. Weird...but somehow I like his style.
Nathaniel: That is a footstool. No one's using that Pentacle.

Hell I agree with that.
All the new movies are in 3D and it costs alot extra to go in and see them, and half the time they aren't even in 3D!!
And they won't let you keep the glasses!!! :nathaniel:

I always keep the glasses. Although I think they are a bit pointless. Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland, for instance. WHERE WAS THE DAMN 3D?! It cost a lot more! D8. The only 3D thingy I saw there were the commercials.

Different places will use different technologies. Some places use polarising filters and let you keep the glasses 'cos they're cheap. Others use active shutter (you can tell these because they have an infrared receiver on the front, which if you put your finger over causes the 3D effect to shut off), and they're expensive and you're not allowed to keep them.

The vast majority of '3D' films annoy me, because they're filmed in 2D and then converted to 3D and they look like a bunch of cardboard cutouts and it SUCKS. Stuff that's actually filmed in 3D is a lot subtler and a much better effect.

I know ya. Also they bring out the inital film and then they bring out the same film in 3D when nine times out of ten its the exact same!

It costed me 13 Euro before without the food added on to the cost.
