I saw Avatar and holy crap. I mean, I want to hate it because of its incredible predictability but I can't. I'm assuming that's a sign of how amazing everything else is.

Other than that, I really liked Where the Wild Things Are. Although you can probably guess that from my avatar.
I had to go watch Where the Wild Things Are with Erin, did not enjoy it very much. The underlying themes where about as subtle as a cricket bat to the face IMO Carol = Max KW= Max's mum/sister. Would have been better to assign each of the wild things a certain trait of Max's personality.
Mindi Jackson , I think I'm in love. Now I just need to get famous.

I bet you liked the Taylor Lautner bits. =P

Watched Hurt Locker. It was interesting...
Uh there was a slight thread mix up, and now Nero is responding to something that isn't there. The repost:

Saw some movies yesterday. The rundown:

Princess and the Frog was awesome. *is a complete animation dork* Animated really well, had great music, good story. Plus I haven't seen a traditionally animated movie in theatres in about 8 years so... yeah. Got there late though, and missed at least the first ten minutes, possibly twenty. Anybody know any good pirated movie sites? Hey I bought a ticket so it's okay, right?

Sherlock Holmes was pretty cool. Not amazing, but a good movie. A different interpretation to be sure, but not unrecognizable. C'mon guys, he's the most frequently portrayed movie character, I think by this point there is a little room for liberties. And New Moon demostrated why following the source material almost exactly is not always the best way of approaching your movie.

Whoa that's... quite a bit more then I originally intended to write. :D

I disagree. The werewolves looked like lil' puppies to me. And I only watched the trailer! Who wants to bet that Twilight fans voted like mad during the poll?

The werewolves in the World of Darkness setting are how they should be done. Enormous and dangerous enough to scare the unliving crap out of vampires, to the point that vampires don't leave the cities if they can possibly avoid it for fear of getting eaten by werewolves.

I meant that they were at least better than they were in my imagination, which made them look completely ridiculous.

LoL, the whole thing was amazing, that's true. Watched it three days ago with my best (boy) friend (I mean, a boy who is a friend, not a boyfriend :$). But I usually don't like happy endings, so...
And it was like tooo darn predictable. It would be boring if the special effects weren't there.

Back to the New Moon topic, I think werewolves were cute ♥♥ (when they aren't meant to be cute. They gotta be terrifying and bleh). And Taylor is hawt. I don't think the Twilight saga is the best series ever (it kind of sucks, actually). But the film wasn't too bad. Not the best film of the year, definitely, but not that bad, either.

Hoping to see Book of Eli.
Also, bitchslap might be worth the cash. Looks very Tarantino -y

Saw Twilight today. Start & the end was good, the middle very boring.

Like the book!

Seriously though, I give kudos to the Twilight movie for cutting out a good chunk of the scenes where Edward and Bella kind of just stare at each other or whatever. That could be why I hear a lot of the fans complain about it.

Well, I think they did a pretty lot of staring in the movie too. By movie standards obviously. If it was like the book, the movie would have stretched for 5 hrs.

The Road.
Alright, technically it's already out, but I've not seen it yet.
I haven't seen Avatar yet, either. Should probably go in order to gawp at the 3D before it leaves cinemas.
(There are probably more awesome movies due out later, but I don't really keep up with upcoming movies.)

Oh, and: Bartimaeus movie. We can dream...

No need to rush, I 'spect it'll be there for another couple of months at least. That's what I'm banking on. :D

You're probably right; I think they're going for beating Titanic's, ahem, titanic cinema takings.

How long did Titanic stay in theaters? Must of been near half a year to gain nearly 2 billion.
