Yay for SH.

Did they just make up a story SH? Or did they take one of the stories?

Seems to be derived from them all.
So, yes.

Robert Downey Jr. is awesome.
And does a flawless accent.
Probably from Chaplin.

Actually more accurate to the books than most movie portrayals. Well, minus the American bit. But I'd rather ask the English folks we have here as to the accuracy of the accent.

I've not seen enough bits of the movie to judge the accent, but I do know that things notably absent from the Sherlock Holmes books include explosions, big action sequences, and Guy Ritchie.

I think there's an offhand mention in A Study in Scarlet that Holmes can box, but it's never brought up again.

No matter how true to the book it is, this will make it more awesome.

I think you have to see the Sherlock Holmes movie keeping in mind that it will slaughter the books, and you can't pretend to be disappointed when it does.

That's why I like LotR as much as I did

I saw Golden Compass yesterday. It was nice. As the movie ended before the book did, I was a little disappointed (I particularly wanted to see the last part).

I didn't really like that adaptation.

Saw Avatar; I was prepared to hate it because of Topless Robot, but it blew my mind.

I keep hearing that it's really spectacular... I just don't have a desire to see it.
I kinda want to see it, but there are other movies I'd rather see first. After that I'll probably have no money. :D
