Epic winsauce.

[Strangelove's plan for post-nuclear war survival involves living underground with a 10:1 female-to-male ratio]
General "Buck" Turgidson: Doctor, you mentioned the ratio of ten women to each man. Now, wouldn't that necessitate the abandonment of the so-called monogamous sexual relationship, I mean, as far as men were concerned?
Dr. Strangelove: Regrettably, yes. But it is, you know, a sacrifice required for the future of the human race. I hasten to add that since each man will be required to do prodigious... service along these lines, the women will have to be selected for their sexual characteristics which will have to be of a highly stimulating nature.
Ambassador de Sadesky: I must confess, you have an astonishingly good idea there, Doctor.

Win stuffed with win.

Saw 2012, among others. Looking forward to Avatar, still.
And, Tron Legacy.

TROOOOOOOOOOOOOOON
I wish I were a cat-dragon
Saw Whatever Happened to the Morgans? a few hours ago. It was okay, but I only agreed to it when it looked like I was getting dragged to New Moon (which I will probably see in theatres anyway, but my sister'll kill me if I don't take her).

Next Tuesday since it's cheap movie day at the theatre, we're gonna go and see a bunch of movies back to back. Makes up for it a little. Should be fun.

Took my new GF to see whre the wild things are yesterday, never been so bored in all my life. Using Carol as a metaphor for Max was so painfully underlined even a brain dead chicken would have grasped the most complex technique in the film.

Ah well, she now has to watch the godfather with me so it was worth it :P
Mindi Jackson , I think I'm in love. Now I just need to get famous.
I want to see Avatar.

I heard the first half was good, but it loses steam after that...
No real movies i'm interested in seeing...

I think I'm going to see Avatar tomorrow. I'm really looking forward to it. It looks amazing in the advertisements.

I thought it was really cool, actually. If nothing else, go for the special effects. I saw it in 3D, and minus the headache later, was amazing. Story wise, there will be bits you'll be able to predict, but none of it bad enough to matter or detract.

So it doesn't beat Titanic?

I see Titanic as I see pretty much every Best Picture movie that I've seen as of yet; I can see why it's considered a "good movie", it was well done and everything, but I just don't feel anything about it. I don't think "This was an amazing movie and everybody has to watch it," it's just kind of a blah.

As for Avatar, there are other movies out right now I'd much rather see first, so it looks like I'm not getting around to it.
And Marvin the Martian Movie. Win.

The fact that people are still considering making the Monopoly movie; not so win.

Really? I thought the 3D was kinda meh. Sure some parts of it were nice, but it didn't have the 'stick out' as much as it could of, especially for the dramatic fight scenes or the amazing tree of souls or anything.

Agree on the story part though.

Have you seen Blade Runner?

Ditto.
Blade Runner kicks its ass.

Anyways.
Story-wise, I see it as akin to comparing sedans and V8 Coupés - both have four wheels, but inherently different.

Titanic was obviously predictable, but incredibly well done (I'm a fan, in case you missed).
Avatar is more or less original, again very well presented.

As for the pop out 3D thing, I don't like it too much. What I really liked was the overall effect of reality it gave. Depth means a lot more with it.

Could you perhaps have chosen a simile that would have been relevant to members of this site other than you?

Nah, never seen it.

As for 3D, it can be kinda cool, but I honestly don't see what the hype is about (other than studios wanting to boost sales with something "new"). Some movies sure, but there are many movies that don't really need the format.

I remember seeing Spy Kids 3D when it first came out though, and I have to say the technology's definitely improved.

It's a classic film that's actually really good. Definitely worth watching.

Better?

Avatar was the first 3D theatrical film I'd seen - once watched part of Shrek 3D at a friends house, thought it was alright.

Also: Sherlock Holmes on Friday!!!
