My friend said Inglourious Basterds was hilarious. Anyone care to back this up?

Heh. The biggest critique I could get was...

"Saw Inglourious Basterds"
"Oh, I heard it was good"
"Very"
"How descriptive"
"Lol"

Looking forward to Zombieland as well.
Majorly looking forward to Avatar.
Hope it doesn't suck, don't think it will.
Disappointments are lower this year, for me.

Same; I hope Max Brooks is an influence on their writing.

Mmhmm.
I'm still hoping some sort of faithful WWZ movie to come out.

Last time I checked, it was in the making.

You ever see Inside Man?
Great flick.
Robin Hood movie coming up in 2010.
Normally I'd say boo, since I'm an Errol Flynn fan, but it's a Ridley Scott-direct.
So, I have hope.

district 9 was good, a little gory, but the humour made up for it. And then after i saw Time Traveler's wife, and all i could think of was "if an alien mothership appeared over you, you wouldn't hesitate to lock them up in a ghetto and get them addicted to cat food."

Srsly, TTTW was so unfunny, and yet the old guy sitting behind us kept laughing his head off and the lamest things. Also, in the beginning when they show the little kid, I thought he was a girl with his flowing locks.

We cancelled our plans to see it, for which I am grateful.

Saw Hangover Square and The Devil and Daniel Webster last night, they're some pretty good 40s movies. (We get TCM now :D )

Yeah, I heard about Disney.
Looks like they're do with it what they did with Pixar - it's its own little section.
Nearly autonomous.

Saw Inglourious Basterds. LOVED IT. Thought it was brilliantly done. WWII, but 100% Tarantino style!
Christopher Waltz was this year's Joker, I reckon. The opening scene, particularly well done. Mike Myers made an appearance, strangely. Anyway, if you haven't seen it, strongly recommend doing so.
When I set out from the boy's attic window, my head was so full of competing plans and complex strategems that I didn't look where I was going and flew straight into a chimney.

Something symbolic in that. It's what fake freedom does for you.

Meyer has publicly admitted she didn't do the research on vampires, and just made it up as she went along.
Not researching is great example of a horrible writer.
so your saying that writers cant chalenge a preconseved idea of something or use there imagination if they want to be seen as a good writer?

Using your imagination is fine, making up bullcabbage isn't...

Yeah, but do you really think Meyer actually bothered researching vampires before challenging the "preconceived idea?" Good writers do research, dear boy.

Also, having a new take on something doesn't neccessarily make you a bad writer, you're a bad writer if it's written badly.

1) 'Cuz I found the article an hour later and didn't feel like pushing the edit button
2) It's AWESOME! :P

I wonder if Marvel is going to remain essentially seperate, like Pixar, or if Disney's going to play an active role.

I hope it's the former...Disney would ruin Marvel.

D.C. I believe that you think that twilight is bullcabbage is just your opinion, isn’t it? I think that she was quite creative with her ideas...

And Fuzzy, Really? Research for a fictitious novel? Which mostly about the romance?
