I have to say, I can't wait either to see if Mr. Stroud is gonna continue writing or otherwise...

This is a really great forum! I love it here ^^ I'm still thinking of something I could ask Mr. Stroud.

I wonder if Bartimaeus met Kitty again to tell her exactly what happened. But your right Sentynel, I guess I'll have to use my imagination. ^_^
i believe there will be a new series following what happens after the revolution and something to do with kitty

I'd say that most of us hope there'll be another book, series, or whatever (I certainly do), rather than think there will be. We shall see.

I hope Mr. Stroud continues writing, whether it's more Bartimaeus related material or something else entirely.

I was soooooo sad when Ptolemy and Nathaniel died! I'm not ashamed that I almost shed a tear.

Anyway, what is author's visit?

Jonathan Stroud's coming in febuary; he'll answer any question posted in the questions forum.
And welcome to our member strapped formun, by the way.

In retrosept, can there have been any other end to the book? Ptolemy's Gate's Ambivience demanded it. A slapstick ending wouldn't have had the same power.

No games, please. If they make any, I'll bet they're crap. Games based on books or films are crap 90% of the time.

Except for Goldeneye, King Kong, Spider-Man, and LotR. And some Star Wars. The rest is crap.

Exactly. 90% are crap. Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic was sheer brilliance, for example.
Generally if you play through the storyline as one of the main characters, it stands an even greater chance than usual of being crap. The games that expand on the film/book, rather than just play through them, are sometimes better.

I just finished and I didn't just go teary I actually cried (I even knew it was gonna happen because I read the last page though). I was sitting next to my mom after I finished it (She hasn't read them) and I was all "That was such a sad ending." and then I just started crying. I went down to my room and cried for like five minutes and then I came back up and my mom said "Go cry in peace did you?" I almost started crying again. That is the only book I've ever cried over. Not even Sirius's, Kess's, or Dustfinger's death could do that to me.
Just finished reading Plotemy's Gate a couple of weeks ago. I was closing out the bar (I'm probably quote "too old" for adolecent fiction, but everyone's got to have a vice) when I read the last few pages. The ending REALLY pissed me off...but in a good way. I'm just mad that Jonathon Stroud killed off such an amazing character; granted, there was reason for it, but wow. I felt my emotions were being toyed with. Sniffle. It's not fair.

Stroud's definitely an awesome author though. I'm surprised...he doesn't seem to be getting much publicity. Shrug. Once he develops an OMFGFANDOMSPANNINGTHEUNIVERSE, I guess we can boast we were totally OLD SKEWL and addicted since the beginning.

Cheers,

welcome to the forums :) yeah, Nat's death probably got me the second closest I ever came to crying over a death.
'"That's right," I said "Me. What, did you think that I'd be all nice and quiet for you? Think again, sonny. There are two of us in this body now. Check this out."
To prove my point I lifted one of his fingers and methodically picked his nose. He uttered a squawk of protest. "Stop that!"'
I lowered the arm. "That's not all I can do if I put your mind to it"'

Every time I think about it I want to start crying all over again. I was reading the ending to my mom and she kept telling me not to 'cause I started to tear up when I picked up the book. I managed to get through it without crying though. My friend Jacob (Who I can hopefully convince to join) is going to laugh when he finds out I started to cry because I'm the big mean girl, I'm sure he didn't cry over it but then again he carries a picture of Faithful (A cat who died in a Tamora Pierce book) in his wallet.

Anyway Nathaniel was always my favorite character even in the second book.
I strongly disagree with the Potter comment.
