I can function normally on no sleep, for about two days.
After that, the sleep deprivation starts to set in.
Funny, sleep deprivation has similar effects to drunkeness :)
Doing four hours a night for a week doesn't start to get to me until the end of the week, I usually end up crashing for twelve hours somewhere in there, or after.

Meh. I'm a sleep glutton. Might be because I was a bit of an insomniac when I was little (even now I still find it hard to turn my brain off). Though even if I don't get much sleep, I'm usually not very tired or grumpy (last time I was, but I blame that on my brother chucking a boot across the room and breaking my glass).

Tell me, can any of y'all just go to bed & fall asleep? Say within 10-15 mins?
(Fuzzy, I see you can't. Same here).

If I'm tired enough. Never used to be able to, but university has taught me the meaning of sleep deprivation..

I can't; it usually takes me between one and two hours.

If it's holidays it's takes me more than an hour(as I completely mess up my eating & sleeping schedules then). But during college days it takes me half an hour. But I never go to bed & fall asleep the next minute. Unless I am really, really sleep deprived.

Usually takes me 1/2 to an hour to fall asleep, depending (though, oddly enough, if I decide I want to have a nap in the middle of the day, the most it'll ever take is 5 minutes). What really sucks is my internal clock, which wakes me up a 7 pretty much without fail.

Don't complain! My internal clock's alarm function is broken. If I don't use an alarm clock I'll sleep twelve hours a night.

I only do that if I'm seriously sleep deprived, or have been working.
Even for the latter, it's still about ten minutes.

Hah. I don't need caffeine. I'm totally wired—and rewired— without it. So you can imagine what happens when I do get it.

No. No, actually you can't. And I'm not going into detail. I just ate a pear.
I too can sleep for over 12 hours if left to myself. But not for days on end. But I think I need a minimum of 9 hours daily.

I sleep 8 1/2 on my own. What's strange is that I will feel like a zombie if I only get 3-6 hours nightly but if I sleep less than three I feel fine (if only a little more irritable).

No way I could voluntarily get myself to sleep less than 5 hours though. (Unless I take adderall or something, which I recently discovered I'm a lightweight with.)

I'll sleep twelve hours a day indefinitely without alarm clocks. Drives me nuts. And I always wake up feeling like crap, no matter how much sleep I've had (even if I wake up naturally after twelve hours). I start to feel okay an hour or two after getting up and can then keep going for hours until I get tired.
I can run on six hours of sleep a night indefinitely, but I prefer eight and usually get about seven. Under five and I start having to catch up pretty rapidly.

Same here. It's like I've been up all night.
Ever consider the possibility that you have? :P

Zakynthos, and not bad, sleeping through a swarm.
Being in Vegas, the only earthquake strong enough to feel I can't remember, since I was little.
Slept through a minor, 3- or 4.0 one a couple years back.
