How do you feel about the ending?

Ptolemy's Gate

How do you feel about the ending

I loved it!! Nat's finally dead!
I thought it was ok....
WHY IS HE DEAD!!!?!?!?!
I've seen better....
I would like it more if Nat didn't die
I HATE IT SO MUCH! IT WAS HORRIBLE!
it was a good end but he die which sucks

I'm not happy that Nathaniel was killed. Having said that, it was a nescessary death. Makes the ending better, I think, in more ways than one.
When I set out from the boy's attic window, my head was so full of competing plans and complex strategems that I didn't look where I was going and flew straight into a chimney.

:welcome: Nathaniel is my name.

Nat's death made me cry. Literally. It hurt me more than Fred, Sirius or Dobby's death. And that's something.

I felt shocked and I couldn't believe what I was reading.Sure,I did expect Nat to die at the end but in doing a selfless act?And the last paragraph Bartimaeus was SO callous about it.It was the only book that ever made me cry.And well the ending was perfect but I would have been happier if there was more affection(friendship type okay) between Batimaeus and Nathaniel.

Oh come on, Sirius is the only one worthy of comparison.
Dobby was just cute.
Fred... too secondary for that much emotion for me.
Still sucked though.

I always liked Fred & George. I suppose I wouldn't have felt so bad had both died together, but killing one & sparing the other was cruel. And the way Dobby died was rather sad.

Ahaha, I understand.
'Course, the other is missing an ear, but I guess it's not quite equal.
Pfft.
Dobby was a necessary death.
Kind of.
Adds dimension.

If you had read between the lines, you would have seen it. Jonathan Stroud himself said that the last conversation between Bart and Nat had much hidden meaning. The conversation may have seemed less meaningful to you but that was just how they expressed their affection.

Yes, exactly. And Toph's awesome by the way. Who do you reckon would win in a fight between Magneto (X-Men, for those who don't know) and Toph? Just a thought.

Oof.
Hmm...
Magneto. He doesn't have to actually touch the metal as Toph does.
Would be an awesome (if short) fight though.

<Sigh>

Hmmm, I don't think benders do have to be touching whatever it is they're bending. For example, when an earth bender hurls a rock at another, he/she is able to deflect it without touching it.

In fact I don't think they ever touch it . . ?

I think the fight would last a little longer than you think.

Actually, they have to be touching the ground.
Plus Magneto can levitate, so Toph would have the same problem as she did with twinkle toes.

Ok, Dobby seems a lot cuter in the books.
No ever otherwise.
And seriously, in the books, cute is either Dobby, Ginny, or Hermione.
Ok, Emma Watson wins, I retract my Dobby statement.

Emma Watson-cute!? She looks nice but cute isn't how I would describe her. Dobby fits it better.
