Go Bart.
Verroq would win.

I still support the footstool. Though Nat has a good chance too. Bart & Verroq fight & in the process destroy the footstool. Bart then defeats the mercenary. Then Nat dismisses him.

That's possible too. It's possible for everyone to win & everyone to lose. Just depends on how everything happens.

gah the footstool! rofl freakin awesome.
the footstool probably loses first because bartimaeus uses a detonation on it ....
the mercenary loses to bart because he has no weapons so he's kind of useless....and even though he's got resilience bart will probably change into some sort of animal and kill him.....which leaves nat VS bart
but how is bart even on earth if he hasn't been summoned by nat....? ^o)
KItty summons him? Jonathon Stroud puts him there? We summon him?

It's really just hypothetical.

I chose Barti~~~WOOT 4 BARTI :gladstone:
anyway, here's how i think it would go (assuming Nat was allowed to summon)
Nat runs for the chalk to draw a penticle, Barti detonationitizeles him
NAT DEAD :pokehimon:
The mercinary uses the only thing he can without his weapons, his raw strength. He lunges at Barti, who dodges and, taking faquarl's advice at not using magic, beats his skull open with the footstool.
MERC DEAD :pokehimon:
The footstool has been dead ever since the greasy lumberjack hacked it down as a tree.
FOOTSTOOL DEAD :pokehimon:
Barti wins!!!!!!!!

its true

probaly the mercenary, or a tie inbetween the footstool and the mercenary. Since the mercanary wouldnt know the footstool was battling. He would think its just a footstool... well in the case that he picks it up and uses it to hit someone...
I retracted my wing briefly, held the boy so he had a quick view of the square.
"Take a look," I said. "Which house do you think has the thinnest walls?"

For a moment, he was uncomprehending. Then his eyes widened. "You're
not---"

"That one? With the pink shutters? Yes, maybe you're right. Well, let's see..."
Or :
The mercenary runs at nat planning to strangle him but on the way trips over the footstool therefore crushing poor nat and simultaneously breaking his neck....Then Bart just uses a detonation on the remaining enemy so its  footstool....

In the end Barti wins.... :D

Barti tries very hard, but fails, and falls.
Verroq, in all likelyhood, would either kill Bart, or at least knock him out.
