baritmaeus trilogy or harry potter?

I think the Bart trilogy was way better. I couldn't even get through half of the first harry potter book. It wasn't exciting at all. I really don't get why people like it so much; Jonathan Stroud's writing is sooo much better. I hope that when the movie The Amulet of Samarkand comes out it will be bigger than Harry Potter. What do you think? :pirate1:
I liked HP, but Bartimaeus was much better.

BT is better, and here you will find yourself in warm place of agreement. Welcome!
Can't I just say I like both? O.o

They should have like an "adult" version of the BT like in the HP series...oh wait, that was for the UK edition of HP, never mind. -_-

I used to really like Harry Potter but lately, I don't know...

Really haven't read either series in a while.

Yeah, I should probably think about picking up the Amulet again.
I would, (tried last year too) but I've got too much else to do...

I know how you feel. Last time I read the BT was like months ago. >_<

Same.... :P

I really can't decide which is my favorite series..... :-/

I loved the 5th and 6th Harry Potter books but the Deathly Hallows was a disappointment .....And on the other hand there's Ptolemy's Gate which is like my favorite book.... :ermm:

I didn't like harry potter much at all, therfore, i'd have to say Bartimeaus.

I have found a point at which Anne Robinson and I agree; Matt Rawle is veeeerrrryyy nice... xx
Definitely The Bartimaeus Trilogy. The first few Harry Potter books were actually quite nice, but then they started to boring coz the story line is always the same. Voldermort is back, Harry and the whole wizard community is in danger, bla bla bla. And, I have to say, the ending was lame.
Actually, as much as I love the HP books, I would have liked it better if something wrong happened btwn Harry and Ginny (like Voldy coming to kidnap Ginny, Harry chases after them, Voldy threatining to kill Ginny if Harry destroys another Horcrux because Voldy found out already, and Harry taking Ginny's place).

Something like that. Seriously, the relationship wasn't that...convincing. >< (Well, Nat and Kitty could be in the same situation too.)

I would've liked it better if Ginny had DIED actually. So annoying.

Luna is cooler.

Yes I agree....Ginny should have died or even Harry....It would be a really sad ending but it would probably be the best....I hated the epilogue of Deathly Hallows....Seriously gross....They all had kids and named them stupid names (like Hugo.....UGH!!! :X )... :P

I recently re - read AoS and GE and I think that the Bartimaeus Trilogy is better written and the last book is much better than the last Harry Potter book... :)
I like HP better, but BT is 2nd on the list. Mightbe if I read BT as long as HP, mightbe it would have been different.
I like JS's writing style a lot-it beats JK's(esp footnotes!). But story-wise I still stick to HP.

Seriously??

You preferred Deathly Hallows to Ptolemy's Gate???
Yeah(defensively).
Hey, this is my 1000th post! I can't believe it! It's taken an eternity to come! There was a time in which Nero & I were neck-to-neck in the post count. Now look where he is!

Most definitely Bartimaeus. I used to be a big Harry Potter fan, waited in line at the last book, but then... oh my... I read it.

Boom, crash, goodbye.

I agreed about the whole Ginny and Harry = Crappy chemistry. And I was hoping Harry would die, well stay dead. But I love Harry Potter. And I love Bartimaeus.

There was a comment about how all the books are the same because of the same plot. You can say that about any book with series. Even Bartimaeus -Gasp- But Its about variety of people and stuff. It that makes sense.
