7 league Boots

Ptolemy's Gate

When 7 league boots were first introduced, i thought they were something Jonathan Stroud thought up, then i researched and found out they were everywhere....well not just in barti's world.

Yes.

I thought it a wonderful backstory. Like silver.

Right. I love it when fantasy books do that.

Hehe... Pratchett rules. But, as other people said, Nat was in a bad condition, and the recurring blast from the Staff would have atomized him, I think, because in it's controllable state, it went through the Human-Djinni Thingies like a hot knife through butter... And I think his death was a good ending, because of it's martyrdom. You know, Nat dies, London is safe...

As for the dude that said the Boots might survive- pfft dude its made of probably silver-laced rubber and fabric. You think that could stand up to gladstone's staff? oh well, when the spirits were released in the boots it just probably added more fuel to the fire.

I thought djinni explosions were relatively big as well. Remember the guy who wanted his djinni to kill it's love, and it disobeyed for to long and exploded, causing the fall of the magician's mansion?

I think that's how Bartimaeus described it.

Only four pages. Also "Where the trilogy stands, Nathanial is dead" as quoted from Stroud. It's definitely a possibility that the boots survived, although its small.
Skulblaka wrote: Even though it is obvious that Nat dies, it is possible that he could have escaped. It is never actually said that he dies. He did have the 7 league boots on and could have escaped at the last minute, and is in hiding because now everyone knows his real name!

Thats the way I wanted it to end! :hmm:
He was far too weak to do anything, plus it happened to fast. Also that would ruin the great similarity between the way both Ptolemy and Nat died. But yeah, thats what I wanted too. <_<

Me too! Ptolemy was old enough to die. Well, he looked old enough to die. Nat was so young...
Maybe he was stronger than he thought and the staff didn't kill him, just knocked him out for a couple of months...
Look, Queezle.

A wizard did it.
