I don't think I remember seeing the girl lip-synching having a microphone around her. Right now I'm wondering how her voice got that loud enough for everyone to hear.

Well, I know that. But supposedly if China was trying to convince people that the "cute girl" was actually singing, then at least she'd better have a microphone too, or it will look suspicious.

Then again, maybe China wasn't trying to hide that fact. Maybe they didn't care whether everyone found out another girl actually sang the song.

They'd use a concealed wire rather than make her hold or sing into a full-sized microphone anyway; less chance of a nine-year-old turning away from the microphone, dropping it, or otherwise causing problems.
