Not mad.

He was just annoyed that he couldn't get any work done.

He wanted to help people.

If one of his djinn was thought to be dead, wouldn't some other djinn see through the illusion? I mean, the prince's priest guy was a magician.

But one of his djinn wouldn't be dead.

Ptolemy would.

Just because you're a magician, doesn't mean you'll see through magical plots. More likely another spirit would.

Also, if they were still mummifiying people, the fake death would be a problem.

I meant that the magician had spirits that could see through.

You're right. Never mind, but hey, it was worth a try. What if they couldn't find a body? And FYI he was Greek, not Egyptian, and it was after Egypt was invaded by Greece, so they wouldn't be mummifying people anymore.

He's not the type of person to kill for his own protection.
He doesn't have to kill him. He could just say something like:

"Hey, Penrenutet! Did you know that my brother's favorite balcony has a dangerously low railing? It'd be a darned shame if some wretched malefactor were to accidentally knock him over the side and into the busy market street below? Tsk tsk, it would be such a tragedy..."

If MY life and country were in danger I'd probably do that. Except I'd send Bartimaeus, he's good at (quite literally) adding insault to injury with that sarcasm of his.

Actually, he was Eygptian.

Because...

1) Born in the country
2) Half Eygptian had a mother who was.
3) Assumution he believed in their gods

The ruling line of Egypt of the time, the Ptolemiac Dynasty, was Greek, but Ptolemy (the magician) had an Egyptian mother.

Even though he was half-egyptian, the customs were still Greek in origin. Even his Mother would have been brought up in the same fashion as the greeks. Although there were still evidences of the whorship of ancient Egyptian gods, the Greek's religion was dominant in all sacred rites such as buriels.

But didn't he grow up and spend most of his life in Egypt? He'd be more used to Egyptian culture/religions.

Probably, but Eygpt was effectively ruled by Greeks at the time.

It didn't matter if he grew up in Egypt the Egyptian's native cultures were pretty much dead by that point in time, the Greek culture was more than dominant. I'm kind of obsessed with ancient cultures, mostly Greece, but Egypt is my second-favourite.

Ok...responding now.

He seemed to follow Eygptian customs. Or at least he cared a bit because of his whole story about him being dedicated to Ra or whatever.

Even though he was half Greek and the Greek culture was in Eygpt, that didn't mean it's occupants weren't still Eygptian. Because they were BORN in the country. Just because someone's a different race doesn't mean they are a citizen of their race's orginal country.

Some of them occasionally still prayed to the ancient gods. Anyway, his RELIGION woudld've been Greek because of the Greek tyrants ruling them at that point. However, he still obviously had native Egyptian blood in him. Anyway, this started with the arguments of which burriel rites he would've had, and it wouldn't have been mummification bacause of the religion switch. If they decided to give him a proper buriel he probably either would've been burried with gold coins, or burned with them. Yes, I know, I put WAY too much thought into this stuff. :D

However, since he never praticed the Greek's religion, we must assume he believed in Ra or he didn't care...maybe he was an atheist or believed all religions were correct, as he studied them.

I agree, being who he was he was probably an athiest. I'm guessing they just chuched his body in a river or something because they hated him so much.

Maybe they burned it, because someone could find it if they threw it in the river.

Or maybe they used their djinni to make it look like an accident and then given him a proper burial.

Or maybe he got blasted apart by a detentation, inferno, or whatever.
