Hence the Wii's success - it's a completely different style which none of the other games platforms have really tried.
The PS3 is actually more economical than a PC than can turn on the same amount of eye candy.

And console games are harder to pirate.

No console can beat a high end PC, yes.

ok, thanks...

I never played any PC games ... if the SIMS(so dumb) counts as a game then I have played that. SO I can't really say PC games are that good.

Haha, yes most violent games are good. I like games where you get to shoot people and or blow them up. And when they get the blood splatter real looking it is even better.

The Sims... *stab*

Console games aren't really harder to pirate. You can pirate anything if you try hard enough - it's just "tougher" copy protection systems make life harder for the genuine users. *grumble mutter* Personally, I think Epic had the right idea on copy protection for UT2004 (ie, zilch), and before that Freespace 2 (the user license stated you could make a couple of copies for friends). That way people actually buy legit rather than getting turned away from legit games because the copy protection is so invasive.
That said, I think Steam has the right sort of idea, even if it isn't perfect.

Consoles take longer to pirate, though. Nobody's managed to pirate Blu ray yet, for example.

Yet. Once there's a proper market for pirated blu-ray disks they'll break it.

There is a market. Pallika Bazzar, biggest piracy market in Asia. If they say it hasn't been pirated, it hasn't been pirated.

I mean a market as in a demand. There's no real demand for pirated blurays yet. Once there is, somebody will break it.

Eh, that's what I meant too. There is always a demand. Blu rays will be cracked but not in the immediate future.

No there isn't. You can barely find anything legal on bluray, never mind anything pirated.

Quite.

The only PC game I've played is Age of Empires II: THe Conquerors. It was...Okay...ish.

The only reason Microsoft and Sony are doing well solely relies on the violence. Which can be a good thing. A good thing indeed; ever heard of Assassin's Creed? Most awesome game ever. And Nintindo didn't put a DVD in Wii. Seemed somewhat silly to leave that out.

"A Nintendo spokesperson has announced that the company plans to release a version of the console with DVD-Video playback capabilities in 2007."

Assassin's Creed does indeed look good.

AoE2 is the ONLY PC game you've EVER played? Good gods man! Thou shalt buy and play Half Life 2 now, or thou shalt suffer the wrath of the gods.

Oh. Blast it, foiled again by Nintendo. Grr.

When is it suspossed to come out? I want it.

Well, that does sound bad. But whenever I play video games, it's ussualy on a console, excluding the PC. My computer's unbearably crappy, so AoE II is about all it can take. And please don't suggest, "buy a new one". AoE II is ok, but it has problems that I CAN"T STAND:

1) You can't position people on walls.
2) You can only select like 40 units at a time, which is rather annoying when formulating a strategy.
3) THE POPULATION LIMIT IS ONLY 200! 200!!!! What the Hell?!?! You can't build an empire off 200 people!!!!!!

Well then you need to buy a total war game, preferably Medieval II Total War or Rome Total War. Rise of nations is another good strategy game.

You have missed out if you have only ever played on AoEII, i mean III has already been out and is now a fairly old game.

AoE isn't really any good.
You computer *should* be able to handle Rome: Total War if it's anything less than five years old, so buy it. It solves all problems mentioned about AoE, AND it's actually good!

I've no idea when Assassin's Creed is supposed to come out and even less about when it'll actually be out.

FORGET Half Life. Play Planescape: Torment, Dawn of War and Company of Heroes. Max Payne and F.E.A.R too. At the minimum.

Half Life 2 is pure brilliance. Play it. Sure, the games Post has suggested are mostly good, but the sublime brilliance of HL2 is something else entirely.
