Faquarl was a pretty good villain too: funny, and a formidable opponent.

Does anyone else get very annoyed by villains who are really incompetent? It just seems like a complete waste of time reading a book or watching a movie or playing a video game if the bad guy is too easy to beat. For me, it's only interesting if the villain's plan is so well thought out or executed that it becomes a real challenge for the hero to prevail. Or if the villain ends up winning in the end. Can't think of any occasions where that's happened, though.
Bartimaeus: It won't be the only mad thing about if you let this lot go. Check out that one at the end. He's taken the form of a footstool. Weird...but somehow I like his style.
Nathaniel: That is a footstool. No one's using that Pentacle.

Ozymandias from Watchmen was an extraordinary villain, totally worth being on this list.

Opal Koboi from Artemis Fowl - BECAUSE SHE KEEPS COMING BACK!

"Oh, is that an even numbered Artemis Fowl book I just saw you buy? Well, I haven't read it either, but here's a massive spoiler - IT WAS OPAL AGAIN!"

Don't blame me if you get punched. But I DO hope it's her again in book 8 (though there probably won't be a book 8 in all honesty) just for the sake of continuity.
I noticed that about AF too.

When If you start hiring footsoldiers for your Legion of Terror, I would like the job of Head Underling, or something like that. Not too powerful, but powerful enough... :ninja2:

xD.
It is a seriously awesome list.

And, about Artemis Fowl:

It's going to be sad without any more Artemis Fowl books, but the series has definitely had its time to shine. As long as Artemis and Holly don't get together in the last book I'll be fine with it.

Yes, that shouldn't happen.
But I have a bad feeling that in the last book, Artemis is going to sacrifice himself in some way to save the fairy world. He would then be on the verge of dying and Holly would change him to a fairy because some ancient magic allows that. And then, the two of them will live happily ever after.

All I can predict is that a character will appear whose name resembles that of the old guy from The Wish List. Those cross references always make me giggle, which is a very sad thing.
