I'm curious to know...
If you were an apprentice getting Named, would you make up a name, or choose one that's already been used?

I think I'd want something a little more flashy than Clive Jenkins, but not ridiculously ostentatious like Guinevere Pendragon.

...Like Sylvia Hammond or Sierra Nevada or June Vaillancourt.

What would you be?
Hopefully not something mary sue-ish like Paradise Lovekiss or Chantorria Barbieheart. :ermm:

I would make up a name. But I can't think of a good one now. And yeah, definitely not something with "love", "heart, "sweet", "kiss" or "barbie" in it.

Underwood said that you could make up any name you wanted, within reason.
I wonder how far you could go before they'll say "no". :P

Funny stuff cathy :D . My main online alias is Shelly Makrell, I made it up using a phone book, kinda like a directory, like 5years ago and it stuck lol. I dont think "shelly" is destined for greatness though, but "john mandrake" sounds about the same

Making up a fake name is actually harder than it sounds...I'd probably check the nominative almanac to see if there are any good names, and if there aren't, I'd make one up.

Yup, I like eccentric names. Actually, I don't like the above one much because it sounds somewhat like Japanese. I don't want it to sound like anything. How is Giganshunde Gigande? Or Blamastun Basthumi?

Cipora Rosmarin - I didn't make up that name, tough. I've met a woman with that name. It's just too cool. Or too silly ....

Aurelia Geldmacher - Geldmacher is a German family name meaning "moneymaker", Aurelia is latin and means gold.

Pia Maria Unverdorben

Also the name of a real woman. Pia = latin: pious, Unverdorben = German: Untainted. I've o idea what kind of parents give their child such a name. But as a magician, I could *pretend* to be a saint :D

Not sure what I'd pick... I would certainly need a list. Wouldn't pick from it, but it'd get my mind working. I'm dreadful at naming most of the time.

I personally find names (name and surname, that is) which have alliteration a lot cooler than names that don't.

I like names that sound good and flow well.

Like "Max Power".
But having a name like that is just like reusing Gladstone's - everyone will think you're stuck up and too big for your boots.
