I think Nat used Barty ruining it as an excuse, I think he really was pulling a Ptolemy, whether he knew it or not.

no offense but none of you can see this? Nat obviously let Barti go under the pretense of him messing things up. He knew that Barti could get away whilst he could not and sacrificed his last few minutes. He just did not want to seem soft or whatever.
