The problem is Harry potter should have remained for under thirteens. Now with character death and it's just a popular, crap, quiched, 13+ Fantasy book.

Sorry i'm not sure what you meant here. By the way it's taking me awhile to finish the thrid book but so far it's pretty good. Harry potter books are a good read but i only read the sixth twice, the other's i didn't but they all had there moments.

Why are you so angry she got popular. As a writer myself i am glad she became famous, she did what she did and she did it damn good. How about if you wrote a book, it got big, and you see people critizing it saying "He can't write for crap" does that make you feel any better? No. She is talented writer, i love to read her work, it's a real shame somone like you has to say that about another writer's work...really disappoints me.

Listen: She made a big bad desicion catpaulting it into the teens category. It's doesn't deserve the rating. It should have been a children's book.

Why not put it into teens category when people i work with read it, who are 21 and above. Your arguement is invalid man and it sounds more like your Jealous of her accomplishments then give a valid reason why the book is so bad. The character development is fine, the plot is moving nicly, the dialog is a good read, i mean i don't see any real major Complaint. Can you please inform me whats "SO" bad about this book, also how old are you?

The series suffers in that it started out as a children's book, but as Harry grew up, more teenager-style content was added, but the writing didn't change. The writing didn't grow with the content and audience, and hence it loses out to other series.

Okay, listen. Will everyone just leave it? Who cares about Harry Potter and if it doesn't deserve to be in the teens section? This is BARTIMAEUS forums. Harry Potter fans can like Harry Potter. People who don't like Harry Potter don't have to like Harry Potter. This thread is becoming too catty for my taste. Well i find the style fine, i see other people do to since the book sells well. Owell i don't mind other's opinion but to bash a writer is a horrible thing.

This right here pisses me off cause you know what i'm 17 and i do like to talk about the HP book. I talk to my friend for about an hour, discussing what will happen next and he is saying that's annoying? How is that annoying? Please explain to me how thats different from somone going on about the triolgy because though Harry Potter has flaws to everyone, even me, the triolgy is far from perfect.

The crucial difference there is that your friend also likes Harry Potter. Ptolemy doesn't.

I don't think that's what he meant. He meant that anyone over age 13 that talks about Hp is just annoying, because it's aimmed at children? I think that's a stupid thing to say since i know more people who are above the age of 21 who read it, enjoy it, and talk about it. He's saying from what i understand is that anyone over 13 who reads it and talks about it is annoying, meaning you shouldn't be reading it over the age 13...You see what i mean now?

3)What I mean is I'm annoyed that my friends junk Bartimaeus in Favor of Harry Potter and then extol inane theories about "Why Dubeldore had to die?" or "How is this gonna affect Harry" or "What is going to happen next?" While I have no idea what they are talking about and hence forced to read inane books about a boy wizard for the sake of meaninful conversation. And face it; it was never meant to be teen book. And about the adults; it's called the Beroli (?) Complex. Peer Pressure, Some like it. Others read it. And so Harry Potter is the best selling book of all time, after the bible.

I am sure lots of people don't like the books, when i was on work experience at WHSmiths, i worked in the book department for a while and the manager there hated her style of writing.

I however, like it, and i find the books very engaging.
