The Mysterious Affair at Styles ~ Agatha Christie.
Also, I'm trying to get a friend into the Bartimaeus Trilogy.
Wish me luck :P

Best of luck!
I have had loads of success into getting people to read Bartimaeus. Though the number is only like 4 or 5, there weren't many I tried persuading.
I read a Jeffery Archer book last week. I forgot the name already, but it was very good.

Re-reading the entire Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy sextet.

Also, "May Contain Traces of Magic" and "Blonde Bombshell" by Tom Holt.

Technically it's an increasingly inaccurately named trilogy. However, an excellent call.

Well back when Cassandra Clare was a fanfiction writer (by the name of Cassandra Claire) she had this epic fanfiction Draco/Hermione fanfiction series. It was the early one to feature Draco with leather pants and apparantly City of Bones is very similar to it. Or so I've heard.

Yeah. The stuff you read on fandom wank is scary. In the fanfiction world she was able to get laptops and i-pods from her fans.

Currently reading H.P. Lovecraft short stories.

Charles Stross' "Merchant Princes" saga. Currently starting book 2. It's great

Has anyone read Jeffrey Archer's books?
The Britishers should have heard of him, I think. He was formerly a politician and was also jailed for perjury.

Iain M. Banks, explaining why there is no god:
"I mean, Terry Pratchett, he's got this awful, awful thing in his head. Jeffrey Archer? Fit as a f***ing fiddle..."

Nevertheless, I don't think he is a very bad writer (whatever his character is). I read a couple of his books and I liked them.

I hear tons of good things about Sandman! It all makes me insanely curious, but I'm still not quite sure what it's about.

Reading Monstrous Regiment. Hee, Terry Pratchett. I've barely read any of his books and I am very fond of him already.
Sandman is the story of Morpheus, the deity of dreams, and various things that happen to him through the ages, although it's mostly set in the 1980s-1990s. It starts as part of the DC comics mythos and then makes its own mythology, which is expanded in Lucifer and some spin-off books.

Well, technically he's not a deity, but something older and more absolute. Deities show up as characters sometimes.
