I wish I were a cat-dragon
I read the abridged versions of classics when I was little. Now I find them to be annoying - always leave out good bits, and parts that are truly important. Once upon a time in America taught me that.nathanielandbartimaeus wrote:Original or the abridged? Also hilariously difficult to pronounce. I saw Iain Banks talking about it at the Cheltenham Literature Festival, and between him and the interviewer-type-person I think they managed about four different pronunciations...Elsie Angel wrote:Why, thank you! Yeah, pretty awesome but confusing. O.o I'll have to reread it at some point, because I'm fairly certain I missed quite a few of the important plot points.
Haven't read it. But A Dirty Job is great.Amish_Nightmare wrote:Pygmy - Chuck Palahniuk
Please tell me I'm not the only one who was amused yet mildly disturbed by this book.
Also currently reading A Dirty Job by Christopher Moore.
Is this for fun, or are you reading them for a class?nathanielandbartimaeus wrote:Microbial Biochemistry - Gottschalk

They are annoying to read. Especially the second one.
All will be revealed.FuzzyLobster wrote:Also reading quite a few comics/manga's lately, and I've got a question for the readers of Sandman: The story at the beginning of The Doll's House anthology, why's it there? It doesn't seem to be connected to the rest of the book at all.
