Yes, yes we do. You'll find quite a few of our posts in these threads when we have things to add. Our problem is with people who have nothing to add posting anyway..

David Cat - two day ban for spamming and arguing with the admins. I've lost count of how many warnings I've posted in the last couple of days. This is getting silly.

Er... *backs away from this conversation*

The introduction was okay. I got a bit hooked when Nat said Bart's name, but what really got me was the conversation between the two. :D

Okay, maybe I'm just repeating what other people said. This is why we get off-topic so much...
"I witnessed an astronomical event, something as I watched I know I'd never see again. Pure truth." (House)
:ermm:

As I said before, I had a hard time getting past the first page, but the rest of the chapter is what made me keep reading. :D

Hooked me straight off. Stroud's got a knack for exciting openers.

Well an opening needs to be good, otherwise one doesn't get sucked in, and the rest of the book is history.

I haven't read that yet.
Probably soon.
GE's intro was certainly entertaining.
Different from AoS, too.

I like how they had a nice long description of the room and how did Bartimaeus appear then just ended it with the line: 'Hey, it was his first time. I wanted to scare him.'

"I am Bartimaeus! I am Sakhr al-Jinni, N'gorso the Mighty, and the Serpent of Silver Plumes! I have rebuilt the walls of Uruk, Karnak, and Prague. I have spoken with Solomon. I have run with the buffalo fathers of the plains. I have watched over Old Zimbabwe till the stones fell and the jackals fed on its people. I am Bartimaeus! I recognize no master. So I charge you in turn, boy. Who are you to summon me?"
