IIRC, Paolini was extremely surprised that Murtagh turned out to be one of the most popular characters. He was expecting his self insert Eragon to win. And like Stephenie Meyer, characters with good potential always have to be screwed over somehow. Because their precious widdle self-inserts must always be in the spotlight.

Meh, I'm hoping Galby will pwn Eragon and reveal that Eragon is actually the baddie. Then Eragon can migrate in shame. Actually, I'm hoping Paolini tells us the entire series is a parody.

TBH I'm still holding onto the slim hope that Shru'kain will lose his cabbage and nuke every main character before ruling the land with his super black dragon awesomeness, and from what I've heard his economic plan for Alagaesia is pretty solid.

lol only thing is, paolini takes so long to write books that i'll probs be way to old to want to read the fourth book by the time it comes out.

Well, not really. We've had one chapter released (chapter four) that I haven't read as I dislike starting off books anywhere from their beginnings. >__> Other than that, nada. But then, he took four years on Eragon and three on Eldest and Brisingr. It's been, what, nearly two years since Brisingr was released? And from what CP's said, it seems like this book is to be his longest. So yeah.
