Or is it an assumption by the reader?

But Nouda at least has to be above afrit or even mariad. So he would at least be almost as powerful as Ramuthra.

the power range in the superior class is immence nouda is incomparable to ramuthra

Because we haven't seen Nouda actually kick real butt.

We've never seen Nouda's proper power demonstrated. Killing an afrit is easy for a marid, never mind a higher spirit.
Saying he didn't know what was coming is plain rubbish. There was obviously a plan in place, involving at least Nouda and Faquarl, and probably most of the other demons that were summoned into bodies. They all knew what was coming.

You mean Whitwell, don't you?

And I think that was someone else.

Yes, just looked it up. It was.

The other demons tried, but couldn't break the Afrit's shield.

And they were afrits and djinni.

So does Nat. Barti is the weakest of his favourite, most used djinn.

Well, to know and use the best, I believe you need a lot of experience.

Which I guess he did have in the third book.

Best? *Snort* Comacrodan was 3rd level, Bartimaeus was only middle ranking. not exactly best.

Nat was a control freak. He had to have Barti, not because he was good, but because he didn't want him to tell anyone else his name.

Bartimaeus was fouth-level.

He was simply weak.

BUt Nat got him even tho he had stronger djinn. And that waas only because he couldn't trust him. Nat was just paranoid and controlling

And he couldn't bare to let go of Bartimaeus...

Because Barti knew his name. It was any emotional attachment and Barti knew it.

It was some emotional attachment.
