I got this from the link you sent, Sent. I dunno if you went that far, but its on the 1st page itself.
Reports also indicate that the LeT receives considerable financial, material and other forms of assistance from the Pakistan government, routed primarily through the ISI[31]. Pakistans security agencies are reported to be providing training to the outfit. A December 13, 2001 news report cited a LeT spokesperson as saying that the outfit wanted to avoid a clash with the Pakistani Government[32]. He claimed, even though the government has been an ardent supporter of all Muslim freedom movements, particularly that of Kashmir, in the present conditions a clash was possible because of the sudden wedge that appeared between the interests of the government and those of terrorist outfits active in J&K.
According to the declaration of LeT operatives, the Pakistan Army, particularly in the borders with India (the International Border and the Line of Control - LoC) aids members of the outfit in their infiltration, extraction and clashes with Indian security forces near the borders by providing covering fire[33].
Well, about the government link, I told you before & tell you again-I believe Pak's government as a whole is indeed against terrorism. But there are some members in the Parliament who still provide support to the army & ISI. The very first line of the which I highlighted shows that. But as Datsyuk has said, they are just media reports & can't be proved. But as Musharaff supported the army & ISI & appointed his own people in the cabinet, some of whom still hold their positions, I think it's quite possible to say the some elements in the government do support the terrorists.
Now India has once again asked Pakistan to hand over the 20 terrorists who caused various blasts across India. They all live in Pakistan now. India has asked for them numerous times before, but the Pakistan government has always been reluctant, always giving excuses. They don't even try to stop them! If they do now & turn them over, I won't say a word against the Pak government again. But if they don't, my suspicion will only rise.
About the army, well LeT operatives themselves have said that the Pak army helps them. I dunno if this has been true in recent times, but surely in the past they did. But I can't say with certainity that the Pak army as a whole, supports LeT. The ISI surely do, but I'm not 100% sure about the entire Pak army. But I'm certain that atleast some of them do. Some big bucks.
What's the beeb? BBC? I know its one of the best news channels, but since the tragedy took place in India, you cannot actually expect them to compete with the Indian news channels. Wouldn't be fair.
