as any good aussie should

I did a lot of cricket watching before. Then I realized there are better sports. Anyway, your favourite cricketer? I think the best Aussie cricketer is Brett Lee. Adam Gilchrist was okay. I don't like Andrew Symonds & Ricky Ponting.

hmmmmmmm, my fav aussie cricketer would probably be Michael (pup) Clarke, but my fav player regardless of nation would defo be Andrew Strauss. I know he's a pom and that counts against him a lot but a brilliant batsman and a genius captain

Never seen a cricket match in my life. Is it worth it?

you should give cricket a try

examples of exiting batting (well, the more refined stuff can be a bit boring for new comers to the sport

It depends. Do you have problems sleeping?

The Twenty20 matches aren't too bad (though what is played there can't be called 'cricket' sometimes). Test will definitely put you to sleep (especially if you have someone boring batting-but I have never gone to sleep). The one-day ones really depend on the teams. If it is two evenly matched teams with equally good preparations, it is fun to watch. But Fuzzy, there are loads of better sports to watch, so don't try cricket. But you can try playing cricket-that is a lot of fun.

My favourite cricketer, currently, ought to be Sehwag. Because he is in a blistering form.

Merged the cricket talk from the Movie thread into this one.

I did think it was a bit odd...
bah you people are philistines, cricket is immense.

Incidentally any Villa fans on the forums?
Mindi Jackson , I think I'm in love. Now I just need to get famous.
Cricket isn't immense. It is played by some 10 countries in the world. Okay 16, if you count minnows like Afghanistan, Canada and Scotland. And as you can see in Fuzzy's case, in spite of being a Canadian, she has never even watched a cricket match. Where does the rest of the world figure into? Cricket is just big in 10 countries and surely doesn't deserve to be compared with sports like football, tennis & hockey.

Fair enough, I was just making the point that I prefer the game.

Immense? Did you mean to say intense?

So who's your team?
You didn't answer my question...
Team Canada, don't care much for NHL teams.

Also; Olympics W00T! Watch us actually win medals this time we host.

I don't expect Australia to do too well in the winter olympics as there is probably more snow up Pete Doherty's nose than there is in all of Australia

Oh, sorry.

Nero, do you just watch ice-hockey? Not field hockey? The Hockey World Cup is in this February. India is hosting it.
