Yes, the Hockey World Cup is considered to be only the 2nd biggest hockey event. Olympics is first.

Canada is pretty good in field hockey too. Not as good as in ice-hockey. But they didn't compete in the 2002 & 2006 field Hockey World Cup.

Yeah, tournament from Feb 28th to March 13th. Canada is playing this time.

Whatever I spoke about now are for men's. 2010 Women's Hockey World Cup is in Argentina this year. August or September iirc.

Yes but schools here only have girls field hockey...

My highschool has a girls hockey team, but no field hockey teams at all. Probably because we have a rink close by.

My (former) school has a girls' and boys' hockey team. Field hockey obviously, as it doesn't snow in my city. The children are better at tripping everyone else than getting the ball. Fun to watch =D.

No hockey here, just Basketball, Baseball, and football.
And tennis, volleyball, chess, band... other ones no one talks about a lot :D
Although, my school does have the state Tennis champ. She's cool.

My school won the South Australia country school (Australian) football league, I came fourth in the best and fairest and kicked 6 goals from midfield, got the most contested marks in the team and second most in the league, those were the days.

I'll have everyone here know that I and I alone hold the record for being outstandingly awful and horrible in PE. I actually managed to get a D- on a PE examination. The funny thing is that that was one of the few times I really tried hard. Go figure.

You don't need a good memory for studies. A good understanding is all that matters. And a little interest & sincerity, of course (I greatly lack the latter).

I have won quite a few medals in sports in school. I was the fastest girl in my school. Could beat everyone. Now, due to my college, I sometimes don't even get time to go for jogging. I was pretty good in hurdles, basketball, cricket & throwball. At least that is what my teachers used to say. I don't practise anything now.

For me physical activity is one of those things that, no matter how hard I try, I'm terrible at. I seem to lack basic hand/eye/body coordination. :D

But in high school they actually give you good marks if you make an effort, so I was okay.

We never get marks for sports! All academics only. Bloody education system.

Heh, so apparently some students went today to see a baseball game downtown, as the teacher, obsessed with baseball, somehow managed to tie it in with geography (some BS about human systems).
